experiments.1986年，徐秀娟在东北林业大学进修结束后应聘来盐城自然保护区工作，担任盐城沿海滩涂自然保护区驯鹤员，创立了江苏省第一个鹤类饲养场。徐秀娟爱鹤如命，整天为鹤避暑、降温、驱蚊而忙碌，并成功地进行了越冬丹顶鹤孵化、饲养、驯养试验。
