IEC60269-3:2010+AMD1:2013+AMD2:2019CSVEN-FRLow-voltagefuses-Part3:Supplementaryrequirementsforfusesforusebyunskilledpersons(fusesmainlyforhouseholdorsimilarapplications)isastandardthatspecifiesthesupplementaryrequirementsforlow-voltagefusesmainlyintendedforhouseholdorsimilarapplicationsthataretobeusedbyunskilledpersons.ThefusesspecifiedinthisstandardarestandardizedsystemsAtoF.Thestandardincludesaseriesofrequirementsandguidelinesforthedesign,manufacture,testing,labeling,andmaintenanceofthesefuses.

ThestandardizedsystemsAtoFspecifiedinthisstandardaredesignedtomeetspecificcriteriaandspecificationstoensurethattheyaresuitableforusebyunskilledpersons.Thesecriteriaandspecificationsincludethetypeoffuse,theratedcurrent,theratedvoltage,thedimensionsandshapeofthefuse,thecolorcodingofthefuseterminals,andotherrelatedaspects.

Eachstandardizedsystemhasitsownuniquecharacteristicsandfeaturesthatmakeitsuitableforaspecifictypeofapplication.Forexample,standardizedsystemAmaybesuitableforlow-powerapplications,whilestandardizedsystemFmaybesuitableforhigh-powerapplications.Additionally,eachstandardizedsystemmayhavespecificcharacteristicsregardingperformanceandreliability,aswellassafetyandeaseofuse.

Tocomplywiththisstandard,manufacturersoffusesmustensurethattheirproductsmeetallofthespecifiedrequirementsandguidelines.Thisincludesensuringthatthefusesaredesignedtowithstandvariousconditionsandstresses,suchasmechanicalimpact,vibration,andtemperaturefluctuations,whilestillmaintainingtheirperformanceandreliability.Additionally,manufacturersmustalsoensurethatthefusesarelabeledandpackagedinawaythatmakesthemeasyforunskilleduserstounderstandandusesafely.
