HousingandUrbanRuralDevelopment(MOHURD)—"NoticeonPrintingandDistributing'the

grouphasconductedextensiveinvestigationandstudy,summarizedthepracticalexperience,made

referencetotherelevantinternationalstandardsandothercountries'advancednormsandcodes,and

widelysolicitedopinionstoreviseGB/T50363-2006

TechnicalSpecificationforWater-saving

IrrigationEngineering.

Thisstandardconsistsof10chaptersand2appendixes,covering:generalprovisions,terms,

planninganddesign,watersourceforirrigation,irrigationschedulingandirrigationwateruse,wateruse

efficiencyofirrigation,technicalspecifications,benefitanalysisandevaluation,managementandareaof

watersavingirrigation,etc.

evaluationofnewconstruction,extensionandrenovationofwatersavingirrigationprojectsinagriculture,

forestry,andanimalhusbandry.

Theconstructionofwatersavingirrigationprojectshallgivefullconsiderationtolocal

3.1Planning

Forwatersavingirrigationprojectplanning,basicinformationsuchasmeteorology,water

sources,topography,hydrology,geology,soil,crops,waterconservancyprojects,irrigationexperiments,

energy,materialsandequipment,theeconomyandsocietyandrelatedplanning,shallbecollectedand

rationalityandreliabilityanalysisshallbeconducted.

Planningofwatersavingirrigationprojectshallbeintegratedwithplanningoflocalwater

resourcedevelopmentandutilization,landuse,waterconservancydevelopment,agricultural

developmentandecologicalenvironmentalprotection.Itshallmeettherequirementsofmodern

agriculture,newruralconstruction,andhighstandardfarmlandconstruction.Furthermore,itshallmake

beneficialuseofexistingwaterresourcesfacilities,andintegratewiththearrangementoffarmland

drainage,fieldroads,farmlandshelterbeltnetworks,powersupplyfacilities,etc.

Gravitysprinklerirrigationandmicroirrigationshouldbeappliedinhillyareasbytakingtheadvantage

ofnaturalslopeofsurface.

4Microirrigationshouldbeadoptedinareaswithrainwaterharvestingasanalternativewater

source.

3.1.4Waterbalanceanalysisshallcomplywiththerequirementsofthemoststringentwaterresources

managementsystem.Watersavingirrigationtechniquesshallbeoptimizedandwaterdemandtomeet

theprobabilityofirrigationdesignshallbedefinedbasedonwateravailability,soastoachieveabalance

betweenwatersupplyanddemand.Intheareawherewaterdemandandsupplyareunbalanced,

measuresshallbetakentoadjusttheirirrigationmethods,irrigationscale,and/orcroppingpattern,or

reduceirrigationareas.Theprobabilityofirrigationdesignshallmeettherequirementsofcurrent

nationalstandardGB50288CodeforDesignofIrrigationandDrainageEngineering.Irrigation

projectwithpipeconveyanceshallmeettherequirementsofcurrentnationalstandardGB/T20203

TechnicalSpecificationforIrrigationProjectswithPipeConveyance.

Thelayoutofwatersavingirrigationprojectshalltakeexistingwaterprojects,roads,forest
