In2025,peoplemovedpastexperimentationand

embracedAIintheireverydaylives.Thisshiftfrom

exploringwithAItoregularlyusingitasahelpfultoolisprofound:peoplenowuseAInotonlytoexplore

whatitcando,buttosupportthemintheirownlives,bothpersonallyandprofessionally.

Forthethirdyearinarow,Googlepartnered

withIpsos—conducting21,000interviewsacross21countries—tocontinuetounderstandpublic

attitudestowardAI.Forthefirsttime,ourdata

showsthattheworldhasdecisivelycrossedthe

adoptionthreshold—withmajoritiesofthepopulationacrossallbutafewcountriesreportingusinganAI

chatbot.AIisnolongerafuturisticcuriosity;itisanessentialtoolrelieduponbypeopleworldwide.

In

2023

,peoplenavigatedcuriosityanduncertaintyaroundAIfollowingtheemergenceofLarge

LanguageModels(LLMs)andchatbots.

In

2024

,AIunlockednewbenefitsforsociety,fromimprovingfloodforecastingtofinishingsentences.

In2025,peopleembracedAIintheireverydaylivesandexperiencedthebenefitsofAIfirsthand.Now:

understanding(74%ofAIusersoverall),savingtime(65%),andevenfindingtherightwordstonavigateatoughsituation(64%).Morethanhalf(52%)ofusershavenowusedAItoassistintheirdailylives,anda

notinsignificant4in10haveusedAItoexploreanewbusinessventureorcareerchange(42%)ortohelp

navigateamajorlifeeventordecision(40%).

AIisnowahelpfulandmeaningfulpartoflife—whetherpeopleuseitformealplanningor

AIadopters(62%overallhaveusedachatbotinthelastyear)aremorelikelytobeunder35(79%),highereducated(75%),parents(74%),andhavehigher

householdincomes(68%).Students18+(79%)andteachers(80%)useAImorethanthepublicoverall.

Thosewhohaven’tusedchatbots(33%overall)tendtobeBabyBoomers(58%haveneverusedanAI

chatbot)andpeoplewhoarenotcurrentlypartoftheworkforce(45%).Relativetothegeneralpublic,non-usersarealsoslightlymorelikelytohavelowereducationalattainment(37%)andlowerhouseholdincome(also37%).

Notably,thegendergapinAIusageappearstobe

smoothingout:64%ofmenhaveusedAIchatbotsinthelastyear,comparedto61%ofwomen(therewasa10-pointgendergapinusageinboth2023and2024).

Students:85%ofstudents18+areusingAItools.Studentsuseittohelpwithschoolwork(83%ofstudentusers),understandcomplextopics(78%),manageday-to-daylifetasksliketrips,meals,orworkouts(54%),andmakedecisions(42%).

twothirdsoftheglobalpublicfeelAIishavinga

positiveimpactonthewayweaccessinformation(66%positive)andonthewaywelearn(65%).EvenincountriesliketheUnitedStates,whereattitudesaboutAIarethemostnegative,peoplesayAIis

havingapositiveimpactonaccesstoinformation(55%positive/22%negative)andlearning(45%positive/30%negative).

UsingAIforeducationisalsoseenasanetbenefit

forsociety:thepublicbelievesprimaryandsecondary

Canada,andEuropeandevenmorepronouncedintheAsia-Pacificregionandinemergingmarkets.

Despitethesebenefitsforindividualsandsociety,manyhaveconcernsthatAIcoulderodecritical

thinkingandreduceteachingquality.Teachers,

Globally,twothirds(66%)ofthepublicthinkworkersarelikelytobenefitfromAI,a13-pointincrease

from2023.

Perceptionsaremostpositiveinemergingmarkets(78%likelytobenefit),butevenintheUnitedStatesandCanada,whereattitudeshavebeenconsistentlymorepessimisticaboutAI,53%believeworkers

arelikelytobenefitfromAI,comparedto32%whobelievetheyarenot.

WhilethepublicfeelAIwillhaveapositiveimpact

onworkersoverall,theyalsohaveveryrealconcernsabouthowAIwillimpactjobs.ThosewhofeelAI

Currently,thepublicissplit50/50onwhetherAI’s

benefitsoutweighpotentialjobdisruption.However,amongthosewhohaveusedAIforwork,andamongyoungerworkers,morefeelthatAIwillultimately

Despiteconcerns,peoplecontinuetobelieve

fosteringadvancesinscience,medicine,andotherfieldsthroughAIinnovationismoreimportant(58%globally,comparedto59%lastyear)thanprotectingimpactedindustriesthroughAIregulation(41%,levelwithlastyear).Thepushtowardsinnovationholds
