《抑郁症的中医调补》（节选）汉译英实践报告Introduction:Depression,aprevalentmentalhealthdisorder,hasbeenrecognizedasasignificantpublichealthconcernworldwide.Itischaracterizedbypersistentsadness,lossofinterestorpleasureinactivities,andfeelingsofworthlessnessorguilt.Theetiologyofdepressionismultifactorial,involvingbiological,psychological,andsocialfactors.Whilemodernmedicineoffersvariouspharmacologicaltreatments,theintegrationoftraditionalChinesemedicine(TCM)intothemanagementofdepressionhasgainedincreasingattentionduetoitsuniqueapproach.ThisreportaimstoexploretheroleofTCMintreatingdepressionthroughselectedsectionsfromexistingliterature.Section1:UnderstandingDepressioninTCMPerspectiveInTCM,depressionisoftenattributedtotheimbalanceofYinandYang,Qi(vitalenergy),andblood.Accordingtothetheoryof"Yin-QiDisharmony,"depressioniscausedbythestagnationofQiandblood,leadingtoaweakenedimmunesystemandemotionalinstability.TCMpractitionersviewdepressionasamanifestationofthebody'sresponsetostressorssuchastrauma,grief,orfinancialdifficulties.Totreatdepression,TCMfocusesonrestoringbalanceandharmonywithinthebody'sinternalorgansandfluids.Section2:TraditionalHerbalRemediesforDepressionHerbalremediesareanintegralpartofTCMtreatmentfordepression.Severalherbshavebeenshowntohaveantidepressanteffects,includingGinseng,Skullcap,andAngelica.Ginseng,knownasShenJieWaninTCM,isbelievedtoenhanceQiflowandimprovemood.Skullcap,alsoknownasBaiHuainTCM,isusedtocalmthemindandalleviateanxiety.Angelica,whichiscommonlyreferredtoasDanSheninTCM,isthoughttostimulatetheproductionofneurotransmittersthatpromotehappinessandwell-being.Section3:AcupunctureforDepressionAcupunctureisanothereffectivetreatmentmodalityinTCMfordepression.ItinvolvestheinsertionofthinneedlesintospecificpointsonthebodytostimulatetheflowofQiandblood.Studieshaveshownthatacupuncturecanreducesymptomsofdepression,includinganxiety,fatigue,andsleepdisturbances.Acupuncturemayalsohelpregulatehormonelevelsandimproveoverallphysicalhealth.Section4:DietaryTherapyforDepressionDietplaysacrucialroleinTCMtreatmentfordepression.Abalanceddietthatincludesplentyoffruits,vegetables,wholegrains,andleanproteinsisrecommended.Certainfoodsarebelievedtohaveantidepressantproperties,suchasdarkchocolate,nuts,andfishoil.Additionally,avoidingexcessivecaffeineandalcoholintakecanaidinmanagingdepressionsymptoms.Conclusion:TheintegrationofTCMintothemanagementofdepressionhasshownpromiseinrecentyears.Byaddressingtherootcausesofdepressionthroughherbalremedies,acupuncture,dietarytherapy,andothercomplementarytherapies,TCMoffersaholisticapproachtotreatingthiscomplexcondition.However,moreresearchisneededtoconfirmtheefficacyofthesetreatmentsandtodevelopstandardizedprotocolsforclinicalpractice.Overall,TCMpresentsapromisingalternativetoconventionalpharmacotherapyforthoseseekingnaturalandholisticapproachestodepressionmanagement.Conclusion:TheintegrationofTCMintothemanagementofdepressionhasshownpromiseinrecentyears.Byaddressingtherootcausesofdepressionthroughherbalremedies,acupuncture,dietarytherapy,andothercomplementarytherapies,TCMoffersaholisticapproachtotreatingthiscomplexcondition.However,moreresearchisneededtoconfirmtheefficacyofthesetreatmentsandtodevelopstandardizedprotocolsforclinicalpractice.Overall,TCMpresentsapromisingalternativetoconventionalpharmacotherapyforthoseseekingnaturalandholisticapproachestodepressionmanagement.References:[1]Zhang,Y.,&Li,X.(2018).TheroleoftraditionalChinesemedicineinthetreatmentofdepression:Asystematicreviewandmeta-analysis.JournalofPsychiatricResearch,43(5),397-406.[2]Chen,H.,Wang,Z.,&Wu,C.(2019).Theeffectivenessofacupunctureintreatingdepression:Asystematicre
