We encountered problem even at the very beginning: most of them refused to cooperate. I can understand that, actua

4、lly. Most Chinese people would more like to live in his own world, rather than joining in some survey they feel irrelevant ofthat is especially true for the seniors. Although I told them they can answer questions anonymously, they still slammed the door in front of us. “It just won t work out this w

5、ay.” I told my group members.,We held a meeting, thinking about how to deal with this situation. Some of the members proposed to change a survey topic, but I refused. This is really something that is relevant to our life, and also, we have to try to convince the residents that we are up to no harm,

6、and strike them with our honesty and sincerity. After the discussion, we decided to cut in our survey from the community s nursing home, where the empty- nest seniors live. We chatted with them, and helped them do cleaning for a whole day, .and finally, upon leaving, I asked them for help, to persua

7、de the other old people in the community to cooperate with our work. They agreed gladly, and things started to become easier. As for young people, who are occupied in the company in the day, we reached them through internet, the channel they are more familiar with. Not everyone responded, I have to

8、say, but quite few participated in the survey. We were expecting about 100 responses in the beginning, but we actually had over 300 finally. The following analysis and concluding work went smoothlyas we had more than enough data to refer to. The research we conducted actually won the third prize in

9、this contest. I have also learned a lot from this: communication needs skill, and we have to deal with different people with different approaches.
