The interviewer asks you, “Do you have any questions for me?“ 面试官问你,“你有什么问题要问我吗?“ You say . “Yes!“ 你回答说“有!“ This is the easiest interview question out there. Always say yes。 Asking questions shows that youre interested in the job. It also gives you a chance to show how knowledgeable you are about the position and the industry. Most important, it lets you highlight why youre the perfect candidate。 You have to choose your questions carefully, though, depending on whos doing the interviewing. An excellent question for a recruiter might be inappropriate for an executive. And you dont want to ask your potential boss something thats best suited for a future coworker。 Also, there are certain questions you should never ask early in the interview process - no matter whom youre meeting. Dont ask about salary, vacation, 401(k) or anything else that might make you seem more interested in the compensation than the company。 This article shares questions appropriate for every type of interviewer。 The Recruiter: The Big Picture Person Its the recruiters job to identify strong candidates and guide them through the hiring process. Think of the recruiter as the “big picture“ person. They can give you an overview of the company and the department as a whole. (Save very specific questions about the job for the hiring manager。) The recruiter is also the best person to answer questions about the hiring process。 Some questions to ask the recruiter: 一些适合问招聘人员的问题: * How would you describe the company culture? * What type of employees tend to excel at this company? * Can you tell me more about the interview process? The Hiring Manager: Your Future Boss The hiring manager will likely supervise you if you get the job. Theyre the most knowledgeable people about the position and its requirements. You should direct specific questions about the job, its responsibilities and its challenges to them. You may also want to ask what kind of candidate theyre seeking。 Some questions to ask the hiring manager: 一些适合问招聘经理的问题: * What are the most important skills for the job? * How would you describe your ideal candidate? * Whats a common career path at the company for someone in this role? The Executive: The Industry Expert Senior managers and executives are likely to be most knowledgeable about the latest happenings in their industry. If youll be working closely with an executive, you can ask them some specifics about the job. But you should focus most of your questions on the future of the company and the industry. This is your chance to show off your industry knowledge! Some questions to ask a senior manager or executive: 一些适合问高管的问题: * How do you think this industry will change in the next five years? * What do you think gives this company an edge over its competitors? * Whats the companys biggest challenge? How is it planning to meet that challenge? The Coworker: The Straight-Talker Some interviews will also include a meeting with a potential coworker - the interviewer most likely to “tell it how it is.“ A potential colleague may be most candid about the job, its challenges and the work environment. However, dont expect inside information - and certainly dont ask for it。 Some questions to ask a potential coworker: 一些适合问未来同事的问题: * Whats a typical day like in the department? * How would you describe the work environment at the company? * Whats the most enjoyable part of your job? Whats the most challenging part? Here are 8 things to do that will dramatically increase your chances of being employed. 1. Dont be a “smiley face“. Excessive smiling in a job interview is seen for what it is- nervousness and a lack of confidence. A smiley-face person exudes phoniness, which will quickly be picked up by the interviewer. Instead be thoughtful and pleasant. Smile when theres something to smile about. Do a practice run in front of a mirror or friend. 2. Dont be a bad comedian. Humor tends to be very subjective, and while it may be tempting to lead your interview with a joke youve got to be careful about your material. You probably will know nothing about the sensibilities of your interviewer, let alone what makes them laugh. On the other hand, nothing disarms the tension of a job interview like a little laughter, so you can probably score at least a courtesy chuckle mentioning that its “perfect weather for a job interview!“ 幽默往往是十分主观的东西,虽然它可能让你的面试有一个幽默的开始,但你 一定要小心你的笑料。 3. Dont sweat. You can lose a job by wearing an undershirt or simply a little too much clothing. Sweaty palms or beads on your forehead will not impress. Sweat will be seen as a sign of weakness and nervousness. Do a practice run with your job interview outfit in front of friends. The job interview is one place you definitely dont want to be hot. 4. Dont be a small-talker. Your job is to be knowledgeable about the company for which youre interviewing. Random facts about last nights episode or your favorite blog will not get you the job. Never feel you he to fill an interview with small talk. Find ways to talk about serious subjects related to the industry or company. Pockets of silence are better than padding an interview with random babble. 5. Dont be petty. Asking the location of the lunchroom or meeting room will clue the interviewer into your lack of preparation and initiative. Prepare. Dont ask questions about routine elements or functions of a company: where stuff is, the size of your cube, and company policy on coffeebreaks. 6. Dont be a liar. Studies show that employees lie frequently in the workplace. Lying wont get you a job. In a job interview even a slight exaggeration is lying. Dont. Never stretch your resume or embellish accomplishments. One lie can ruin your entire interview, and the skilled interviewer will spot the lie and show you the door. 7. Dont be high-maintenance. If you start talking about the ideal office temperature, the perfect chair for your tricky back, and how the water
