Coffee,1.What is Coffee 2. The history of coffee 3.Some famous coffee: Bluemountain Mocha Colombian Coffee Cappuccino 4.Coffee and health,Coffee is a brewed drink prepared from roasted seeds, commonly called coffee beans, of the coffee plant. They are seeds of coffee cherries that grow on trees in over 70 countries. Green unroasted coffee is one of the most traded agricultural commodities in the world. Due to its caffeine content, coffee can have a stimulating effect in humans. Today, coffee is one of the most popular beverages worldwide.,The history of coffee is as rich as the brew itself, dating back more than a thousand years. The first coffee plants are said to have come from the Horn of Africa on the shores of the Red Sea. Originally, coffee beans were taken as a food and not as a beverage. East African tribes would grind the coffee cherries together, mixing the results into a paste with animal fat. Rolled into little balls, the mixture was said to give warriors much-needed energy for battle.,Later, around the year 1000 AD, Ethiopians concocted a type of wine from coffee berries, fermenting the dried beans in water. Coffee also grew naturally on the Arabian Peninsula, and it was there, during the 11th century that coffee was first developed into a hot drink.,Bluemountain,Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee is a classification of coffee grown in the Blue Mountains of Jamaica. The best lots of Blue Mountain coffee are noted for their mild flavour and lack of bitterness.,Bluemountain,Over the last several decades, this coffee has developed a reputation that has made it one of the most expensive and sought-after coffees in the world; over 80% of all Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee is exported to Japan.,Mocha,Caf mocha is a variant of a caff latte. Mochas can contain dark or milk chocolate.,Mocha,Like a latte, it is typically one third espresso(浓咖啡) and two thirds steamed milk, but a portion of chocolate is added, typically in the form of sweet cocoa powder, although many varieties use chocolate syrup(糖浆).,Colombian Coffee,Colombian Coffee is a Protected designation of origin granted by the European Union (September 2007) that applies to the coffee produced in Colombia .,Colombian Coffee,The Colombian coffee has been recognized worldwide as having high quality and distinctive taste. The main importers of Colombian coffee are United States, Germany, Japan, The Netherlands and Switzerland.,cappuccino,A cappuccino is an Italian coffee drink prepared with espresso, hot milk, and steamed-milk foam. The name cappuccino comes from the Capuchin friars, possibly referring to the colour of their habits or to the aspect of their tonsured (white) heads, surrounded by a ring of brown hair.,A cappuccino is traditionally served in a porcelain(瓷质的) cup, which has far better heat-retention characteristics than glass or paper. The foam(泡沫) on top of the cappuccino acts as an insulator and helps retain the heat of the liquid, allowing it to stay hot longer. The foam may optionally have powder (commonly cocoa, cinnamon(肉桂色的) or nutmeg) sprinkled on top.,Coffee and health,With over 400 billion cups being slurped up each year, there have been countless studies on coffee and how it effects our health. What should we believe?,Coffee is notable for its caffeine content. So lets take a look at caffeine. Caffeine is an alkaloid(生物碱). Alkaloids are found in cola nuts, coffee, tea, cacao beans, mate (the Argentinian tea) and other plants.,Caffeine essentially stimulates the central nervous system, cardiac muscle, and respiratory system increasing intellectual activities and learning ability. For the average, healthy person, however, 3 - 4 cups of coffee/day is not too much (of course depending on how “charged” those cups are).,Caffeines effect on people differs with each individual. Some people are quite sensitive to caffeine and have to reduce intake to a minimum while others ingest it in copious (丰富的) amounts. There has been absolu
