Some English poetry reminds readers of Chinese poetry. ,短语remind sb. of sb./sth.本意为,(cause sb. to remember or be newly aware of sb./sth) 使某人回想起或意识到某人或某事。 This song reminds me of France.,当然,在课本的原句中若直搬其中文意思就会使语义不太顺畅。 ,2. Poetry also calls up all the colours, feelings, experiences and curious images of a dream world. The sound of happy laughter called up memories of his childhood.,有关call的短语,call on sb. 拜访某人,call at a place 拜访某地,call for sth. 需求某事物,call back 叫回,回电话,call off 取消,3. The earliest poem was written in a kind of English that is now difficult to understand. 早期诗中运用的英文很难被现代人 理解。,本句的定语从句中运用了一个重点句式:sth. /sb. is+ adj. + to do注意在本结,构中常用不定式的主动形式与前面的 句词构成逻辑上的动宾关系。类似的 结构还有:,have sth. to do; There is sth. to do; with sth. to do。,例如:,With a lot of difficult problems _,the newly-elected President is having a hard time.(2002上海春招)Asettled Bsteeling Cto settle Dbeing settled,C,注:在with复合宾语结构中也可用分词,但根据本句意有很多难题还有待解决,故应用不定式表将来,选C.,4The style and atmosphere in their poems has often led to comparisons with poets such as Du Fu and Li Bai. 他们的诗歌风格和氛围经常会引发人们将其与杜甫和李白的诗对比。,lead v. 领导,导致,造成,过生活。 例如:,He led the blind man across the street. Too much work often leads to illness. They are leading a happy life.,相关句式,lead a.life = live a. life 过生活,lead sb. to a place 领某人到,lead sb. to do sth. 使/领某人干,lead to 导致,引起,such as意为 “例如,诸如此类的”。 例如:,I visited several cities such as New York, Chicago and Boston.,such as 用来列举事物,常用在列举的事物和前面的名词之间,但是所列事物的数量不能等同于前面所提及事物的总数,否则应用that is或者namely;for example主要用于举例说明,一般只列举,辨析: such as, for example和namely/that is,同类事物中的“一个”,其位置灵活,可置于句首,句中或句末,用标点符号隔开,而such as只能放在所列举事物之前。例如:,He knows several languages such as English, French and German.,I have three friends, namely/that is, John, Jack and Tom.,Some students, for example, John, live in the neighborhood.,5. Once published, his work became famous for the absence of rhyme at the end of each line. Once published为Once his work was published的省略形式。在英语中,当状语从句中的主语与主句的主语一致并且从句的谓语是be done或be doing时,通常把从句的主语和助动词be省略掉。如:,If he is praised, he will be happy the whole day. 如果受到表扬,他会一整天都高兴。 While we were waiting for the train to start we felt excited. 在等着火车启动时,我们兴奋不已。,Summary,1.
