英文原文英语原文SandmixerAbstractAfoundrysandmixerformixinganddispensingsilicaorgreensandandtheiradditivesthroughtheenclosedlongitudinalbeltconveyormechanismhavingapluralityofopeningsinthetopcommunicatingwithafirstfeederdisposedabovetheenclosedlongitudinalbeltconveyormechanismandincludingapairofopeningsinthebottom.Thefirstfeederincludesanaugertypeconveyorandasandweircommunicatingwiththemostupstreamopeninginthefirstfeeder.Afirsthopperforcontainingsilicasandandasecondhopperforcontaininggreensandaredisposedoverthefirstfeeder.Aselectivevalveisdisposedatthebottomofeachofthefirstandsecondhopperspermittingtheflowofsandthroughonlyoneofthehoppersatanytimeorpreventingtheflowofanysandfromthehoppers.Themixermayincludeadditionalfeeders,someofwhicharedisposedaboveanddownstreamfromthefirstfeeder,andothersincludingpumpsareconnectedtoapluralityoffluidsthatarefedthroughaconstantspeedmixerwherethematerialsaremixedandthemixedmaterialsdeliveredatadischargeopening.InventorsFrankie,DonaldM.1599GullLa.,Mound,MN,55364Claims1.Inafoundrysandmixerformixinganddispensingsilicaorgreensandandtheiradditives,thecombinationcomprisingaasupportframepivotalaboutaverticalaxisandhavingaplatformextendingradiallytherefrombanenclosureincludinganenclosedlongitudinalbeltconveyormechanismextendingabovesaidplatformandhavingapluralityofopeningsinthetopoftheenclosurecommunicatingwithsaidbeltconveyormechanismcfirstfeedermeansdisposedaboveandatthemostupstreamlocationofsaidenclosedlongitudinalbeltconveyormechanism,saidfirstfeedermeanshavingabottomandconvergingslopingsidescommunicatingnearthebottomwithanaugertypeconveyor,andhavingapairofopeningslongitudinallyseparatedinthebottomthereoffeedingsaidbeltconveyordasandweircommunicatingwiththemostupstreamopeningofsaidpairofopeningsinsaidfirstfeedermeans,saidsandweirdisposedabovesaidlongitudinalbeltconveyormechanismfordispersingsandonsaidbeltconveyormechanismeafirsthopperforcontainingsilicasanddisposedovertheupstreamportionofsaidfirstfeedermeansfasecondhopperforcontaininggreensanddisposeddownstreamfromsaidfirsthopperandoversaidfirstfeedermeansgselectivevalvemeansdisposedatthebottomofeachofsaidfirstandsecondhopperspermittingtheflowofsandthroughonlyoneofsaidhoppersatanytimeorpreventingtheflowofanysandfromsaidhoppershandcontrolmeansoperablyconnectedtosaidselectivevalvemeansforselectingoneofsaidtwosandsorneithertobedispensedontosaidbeltconveyor.2.Thestructuresetforthinclaim1includingiapluralityofsecondfeedermeansdisposedabovesaidbeltconveyormechanismandatadownstreamlocationfromsaidfirstfeedermeans,eachofsaidpluralityofsecondfeedermeanshavingabottomandconvergingslopingsidescommunicatingnearthebottomwithanaugertypeconveyorandhavinganopeninginthebottomthereoffeedingsaidbeltconveyorjaconstantspeedmixerdisposedonsaidplatformandarrangedtoreceivegranularandliquidmaterials,mixthematerialsanddeliverthemixedmaterialsatadischargeopening,saidbeltconveyorcommunicatingwithsaidmixerkandapluralityofpumpmeansconnectedtoapluralityoffluidsandcommunicatingwithsaidmixer.DescriptionThisinventionrelatestothefieldofmixersandmoreparticularlytothefieldoffoundrysandmixersformixingsilicaorgreensandandtheiradditives.BACKGROUNDOFTHEINVENTIONWhiletheartofmixingfoundrysandpersethroughamechanicalprocessisgenerallyknown,thereareattendantproblemsinattemptingtousethesameequipmentformixinggreensandanditsadditivesasgenerallymightbeusedinamixerusingsilicasandanditsadditives.Becauseoftheinherentdifferencesinthematerialstobemixedandpassedthroughthemachine,thepracticehasgenerallybeentouseseparatemachinesforeachofthedifferentfoundrysandmaterialsandprocesses.SUMMARYOFTHEINVENTIONTheembodimentsofthisimprovementinventionmakesitpossibletocombinethenecessaryequipmentintoasinglemachinetomixeithergreensandorsilicasandandtheiradditives.Variousmeanshavebeenattemptedtomixgreensandwhichrequirestheadditionofsuchothergranularanddryingredientsasfireclay,bentonite,seacoal,pitch,woodflourandthelike,alongwithanappropriatemixtureofwater.Ontheotherhand,silicasand,whichmayalsobeknownasanobakesand,isgenerallymixedwithdrygranularmaterialssuchaschromiteandferricoxideandseveralliquidingredientswhichmayincludecertainchemicals.Becausecertaingreensandmoldsmaybebrokendownafteruseandreused,greensand,whenmixedwithsuchcomponents,providesadifferentflowpatternthanthatofsilicasand.Silicasandflowsthroughhoppersandequipmentmuchliketheflowofwaterwhereasgreensandhasadditionaladditivesandmixturesthatgenerallymakeitlumpywithattendantflowproblems.Variousmeanshavebeendevisedinthepasttomakeaslurryoftheadditivesandaddthemtothegreensandbutthemechanismdoesnotprovetobeusefulinworkingwithbothtypesofmoldingsand.OnesuchmechanismisthatdisclosedinU.S.Pat.No.3,070,858issuedtoJ.S.Beacon.Itisalsoknownthatcertainsilicasandornobakesandmixershavebeenavailablebutarenotoperabletorungreensandthroughthemandmixthegreensandinthemannergenerallyattributabletosilicasand.OnesuchdisclosureofamechanismofthistypeisfoundinU.S.Pat.No.3,682,448isuedtoKedzioretal.ThepresentinventionisanimprovementuponthemechanismdisclosedinmyearlierU.S.Pat.No.
