Firstly,comprehensivereadinginvolvesnotjustreadingthewordsonthepagebutalsounderstandingtheunderlyingmeanings,connections,andthemes.Toachievethis,studentsneedtobetrainedintechniquessuchasskimmingandscanning,whichenablethemtoquicklygraspthemainideasandkeyinformationinatext.Moreover,teacherscanencouragestudentstodevelopahabitofannotatingandsummarizing,practicesthathelpthemidentifyimportantpoints,clarifytheirunderstanding,andconsolidatetheirlearning.
