1、To be honest, I dont think I can tell the cultural differences between East and West very well. Since I have grown up in China and I never go abroad. On the other hand, I didnt make too much communication with foreigners when I was at school. So I just know the Western culture from some films, newsp

2、apers and magazines. After seeing the film - Pushing Hands, I got some strong feelings from myself. First, I found that western young people prefer to live their own life, that is to say, they dont like to live with their own parents. But in Chinese traditional culture, parents brought up their chil

3、dren, then their children should provide for their own parents when they grew up, which even means living with their parents. Chinese considers this behavior obedient and responsible. But western people dont think so. They want to have their private space. The second difference is about the educatio

4、n. Western people think that children should be brave, strong and independent. If their children fell down, they wouldnt help them, they would encourage their children stand up by themselves. By contrast, Chinese parent give too much fondness to their children so that their children arent independen

5、t enough. And those children are excessively independent on their parents. In fact, that is harmful to those children. On the other hand, western parents encourage their children to be imaginative, for example, let them watch cartoons. But Chinese parent think it violent, and they think it harmful t

6、o their children. The third difference is about the details in daily life. Such as the way of having fun, having food, doing sports and so on. In this film, the Chinese old man, Mr. Zhu is proficient in Chinese traditional culture, he is not only a Tai chi master, but also a person who is good at Ch

7、inese Calligraphy and airpocket therapy. He likes listening Beijing Opera and playing Tai Chi, and he used using a big bowl to having meals, he especially likes to eat meat. But the American womanMartha, she is a novelist, she likes making up many imaginative stories. She used having fast food, and

8、she likes eating some vegetables. All of those differences reflect the cultural difference between East and West.In fact, there are many other differences between East and West in reality. Such as the way of making communication, thinking, behaving and so on. Generally speaking, these differences co

9、ntain social consciousness, historical cultures, customs and so on various aspects of human society all features. As far as I can see, the process of discovering the differences really let me enjoy. I think it very interesting. At last, I want to say that we should value culture whether it is from East
