现在，开金一般用作金属架的表面处理材料。 （2）、白金：这是一种白色金属，质重而价昂，纯度为95%，其使用场合同黄金。 （3）、铜合金： 1、锌白铜（铜镍锌合金）：是一种含cn64、ni18、zn18的三元合金，由于加工性（切削性能、电镀性能）良好，可用于加工眼镜架的所有零件。 2、黄铜：是一种含cn63-65%，其余为zn的二元合金，色调呈黄色，由于切削加工容易，故可用来做鼻托芯子，缺点是易变色。 3、铜镍锌锡合金：是一种含cn62、ni23、zn13、sn2的四元合金。由于弹性、电镀性能、耐蚀性良好，故可用于加工边丝和印丁形符号。 4、青铜：是一种cn、sn合金，根据含sn的比例不同，而成为具有不同我的合金。由于弹性极好，适合作边丝材料，缺点是耐腐蚀性差，加工困难，价格校贵。 5、镍铜合金：是一种ni67、cn28、fe2、mn1、si2的合金，耐蚀性强，弹性差，适宜于作镜架的圈身 （4）、不锈钢：是一种含fe、cr、ni的合金，耐腐蚀性好，弹性高，用于作边撑和螺钉。 （5）、铝合金：纯铝比较软，一般多为铝合金。铝合金质地轻，抗腐蚀性好，有一定硬度，而且还能方便地染成各种颜色，是一种具有发展前景的材料。 （6）、钛：又称太空材料，是一种质轻、耐腐蚀性能优良的金色金属。具有较高的硬度和弹性，现已广泛用于金属架和表面处理材料和眼镜架的基础材料。 2 非金属材料 （1）、天然材料：1、 角质：系动物（如牛）的角，现已不用，市场上的“角框眼镜”实际上是采用制成的。2、玳瑁甲：这是一种叫做玳瑁的海龟科的甲，用它制作的镜架属高档品。这种材料有独特的光泽，质轻，易于加工、修理，一经受热，则成可塑性，但冷时极脆，易变形。 玳瑁甲的品质以颜色而论，有琥珀、金黄、亚黄、灰暗、中斑、中红、深斑和乌云八种。由于材料较少，加工时要求的技术性较高，所以玳瑁甲制作的镜架价格昂贵。 （2）、
