the method of reading english literatures for undergraduates of educationabstract:education always is a hot topic at all times and in all over the world.many educator put forward many education viewpoints,they make a outstanding contributions for the reform and development of education career. as normal school students in 21st centurynot, not only should we know about the current situation of our country, but also the tendency of the outside world. so we had to read english literatures of education.there are my methods of reading english literatures of education. these methods are very helpful to me . but these method are not appropriate for everyone, hope you choose the method that suits you. as saying goes :the fittest is the best. hope these methods can help undergraduates of education.keyword:literature; method ; education; read ; translate establish positive attitudewhen i get a english literature of education ,i feel dizzy. because, as a student, whose major is education reading the english literature of education means a nightmare to me . after the teachers remind, i understand if i read only chinese literature of education , my thought and educational view will be narrow and limited , even if i read foreign literature of chinese translation . as is well-known, the original point of view can be affected by translators subjective influence. so wed better read original text . because the original text can not only open our international horizon , lead me to the international perspective and understand international education tendency, also provides us with the international education communication platform.so now i get a piece of english literature of education, ill give me adequate confidence to conquer fear of english and told to me “i can read it ,i can understand it”.accumulate the terminology of educationi have mind to remember some international education organizations name or other countrys education organizations name. such as education select committees、 united nations educational scientific and cultural organization、 united nations international childrensemergency fund 、tfa(teacher for american).of course i would go to collect some materials about famous educationist .for example ,when does the educationist live in and his nationality、his experience and so on. i must know the professional nouns about education , for instance:advanced placementmeans these students are outstanding than their peers in this class ,they can accept knowledge of demanding ,magnet schoolmeans public schools in american,which provide a good professional subject, the course is authoritative in this school and there is non-racial .so this magnet school is very attractive to many students . what is the hit the ground running on sth,if i have not collected some materials ,i did not know this means react immediately. the huge knowledge base will be established by little drops of the knowledge. i think these accumulation will offer me a lot of help to read english literature of education.clear the background of the literatureit is quite necessary to clarify basic information of english literature of education. first i want to clear where this literature to be picked , for example, it is picked from books or magazines or website and so on . next i will clear up which year this literature was published. because, the authors views of education must be effected by times the background . especially in todays education policies and the education viewpoints are updated and changeable almost every year. so it is very important to clear publications date .for example :when i read more than one no.1,i know released and time but what is the meaning of“released time ” ,so i need to look up the background of america education ,because america public school allow students to leave in class timm to learn religion courses with family ,but cannot occupy school resources . when i get a literature,i will look what is the article form .it is a news report or argumentative essay or narration, such as a news report usually come up with an education problem,then provide solutions for these problem. like this case :childhood obesity,it first come up the problem that manty children have adiposis ,then analyse the reasons,last list effective measure to solve these problem.some literature will describe a education phenomenon or want to express some education viewpoint. in fact ,there many education phenomenons are worth keeping a watchful eye on,such asshould parent send their kids to art classesbecause it has become a prevailing trend for parents to send their children to art class of all kinds ,to this phenoment ,some people hold the positive view,others ,however,hold the opposite.as undergraduates of education,how should we think about this phenomenon.if possible, first i will go to understand authors basic ideas of education .such as rousseaus natural education theory、deweys education theory: education is life, education is growth, education is experience transformation. paullengrand put forward the life-long education and so on .after mastered the authors opinion tendency of the education ,then to see his literature i will be easier to understand the whole article motif. if i do not to know the authors opinion it will be hard to understand the literature motif. moreover it is english.deep processing of the literaturethe first step , i will quickly glance over full text, the general meaning of articles will construct in my mind after the speed-read. i must know what this essay generally speak of . at the same time , i will use pen delineate the new words when in fast reading ,then skip them to continue reading.the second step is intensive reading ,this is very important step,in order to be able to read the word by word ,so for these new words i must look up in the dictionary. in the meantime, i have an important work is to outline the keywords . i also must make clear the grammatical relations of the sentence . as is well-known,there is a bi differences between chinese grammar and english grammar. if i dont clarify the grammatical relations of the sentence ,it will becom very hard to understand the exact meaning of the sentences will be to convey. it is a case that happen in high frequency that i will run into very difficult sentence,then i will read this sentence aloud .why i read aloud .because ,this is a way that my friend teach me.he said read the sentence aloud can help me to comprehend it. first i think it is very silly that in this way,because, i do not know the meaning of this sentence, i read aloud when i do not to understand what it will be to convey ,it like “clasping chant. praises use”. but the final practice shows my friend is right.becauae, even i do not understand meaning, at least i still developed language sense. in a word this is a great benefit to me and have no harm.the third step is translation. usually, i will do oral translation about the whole text.i will tell the literature main contents to my friend and other people like telling stories . the best effect is let these people who listening to me understand the main content of the literature.next,i will do the job of written translation. then i would be to translate the sentence by sentence and writte them on the paper. it is quite necessary,because , it is of great different between written translation and oral translation. oral interpretation just let other people understand what will i want to express. however, written translation must have high requirements,it need accurate. i cant omit any information, also do not have sentences of any significance. then i further understand that the difference between english grammar and chinese grammar. therefore, the work ahead which making clear the grammatical relations play a important role in here.if meet a sentences which hard to understand.i also choose to skip it to continue to complete the rest of translations.when finish the translations,i will take my doubt to find others help. i will listen to other peoples explanation carefully.during this time, not only did i can learn a lot of knowledge,but also learn a lot methods of studying,such as how to analyse the structure of sentence,how to seize center of the literature.after eliminate all the obstructions, in order to can i make quickly reaction when i meet this type of sentence,i will pick some beautiful sentences or have a depth sentences to do further analysis,such as , how does it constructed.when i have finished the work,i will take translated text that translate myself to my teacher to c read and appraise. if my translation have errors ,my teacher can point them out immediately, and i can correct it at once. if my translation is a perfect text,my teacher will certainly praised me. there is no doubt that the teachers commend is a great encouragement for me ,it encouraged me to go on in reading english literatures of education. group discussionit is very a good thing that some students also read the literature,because it shows i have a lot of opportunities to talk with other students. i can compare the views that sum up myself with others opinions. then i will find my advantages and disadvantages. learn other students excellent point of view. so i can improve understanding of documents better than before. the last but not the least ,i will give my value judgement in allusion to the literatures views. such as ,literatures view conform to the present education development trend or not . whether does it puts forward the new education viewpoint . for example,when i read the article with my classmeats named native speakerslack grammar skills in mother tongue,researchers from northumbria university have suggested that many native english speakers have trouble making sense of even basic grammar. during the process of the discussing,some students who has a lot of experience communicating with foreigners,they said when they chat with foreigners,they found that many native english speakers had not pay much attention to the grammar . in other word ,these native english speakers have a core ability to understand the simple grammar of their language. i think one reason for this phenomenon is that lesseducated native english speakers have less experience of grammar. some of my classmates think that westerners think highly of freedom,they do not be rigid controled by dos and donts , include grammar rule,they regard language just a tool for communication,it is ok that people can understand each other .they do not pay more attention to the grammar. but i think that to a degree grammar is very important ,such as passive stences occur more frequently in formal written texts ,which higher educated speakers have more experience using .a researcher named ewa dabrowska said:“ if a significant proportion of the population does not understand passive sentences,then notices and other forms of written information may have to be rewritten and literacy strategies changed.” i quite agree with the researchers point of view.consolidate and reviewthe last thing is review and consolidate , i have a special notbook, i use it to collect and write these new words,which are i meet them when i read literature of education. this way is useful to me . i also collect classical sentences and grammatical collocation. the huge knowledge base was established in mind by this way . so i
