Free talk (class work)(1) Ask students to talk about their dreams freely.(2) Invite some Ss to answer this question: what is your dream?/ What is your hope?(3) Show students my hope and my dream.My hope is to have a baby next year. My dream is to sail across the Pacific Ocean.(So whats the difference between hopes and dreams?)A hope is easier to come true than a dream.A hope is more realistic than a dream.Goal: To lead up to the topic, get Ss to warm up and arouse their interest in the topic.Step 2. Pre-readingActivity1 ：Look and guess (class work)In this activity, Ss are required to look at the title and guess what they will read.Activity2： Brain-storming (class work)In this activity, I will show them a picture that related to the title. Ss are encouraged to think of as many words as possible to describe the picture.Goal: To develop Ss predicting skill and present some new words in the passage.Step 3. ReadingActivity 1： Skimming (class work)Ss are required to go through the whole passage quickly to get the general idea and pay special attention to the first para and the last Para of the article (or the first sentence and the last sentence of each Para.)
