Lesson 52The Power of a Smile 教学整体设计【教学目标】1能够熟练掌握本课单词及短语并复习定语从句的用法。2.通过中心话题“微笑的力量”,让学生意识到与人相处时微笑是十分重要的。【教学重难点】1.掌握文中重点单词 dining,simply,somehow,adapt和短语 adapt to。2.掌握并能熟练运用文中的重点句子But they were even worse than he imagined.He had to adapt to this new environment.He smiled at them.3.复习定语从句。【课前准备】黑板,录音机,配套磁带 教学过程设计 教学过程一、创设情境,切入主题Step 1:Warming upT:Have you ever felt lonely?Why?Ss:Yes, I have.There is a time when I came to a new school,I know nobody in that school and nobody wants to talk to me ,so I feel very lonely.T:Im sorry to hear that,but how can you make new friends later?Ss:I made a decision to join them,I put a smile on my face and said hello to everyone,soon they accepted me.T:Wow!You are very clever ! I think you have used the best way to make new friends.设计意图:新课开始,教师通过设计几个学生感兴趣的问题导入新课,能调动他们的学习积极性。二、展开过程,探究新知Step 2:Presentation1.Teacher shows the words:dining,simply,somehow,adapt and then ask the students try to read them,if they are right,then praise him with a sticker.After that,explain the meanings and the usages of these words.Make sentences with the words and explain the meanings.如:adapt 适应we should learn to adapt to the new environment.我们应该学着适应新环境。2.Give the students five minutes to remember the words. And then the teacher pick out one of them.Let students spell and read them one by one.设计意图:教师以游戏的形式学习新单词并单个记忆,学生记得快。老师还可以找几名学生比赛记单词,调动他们的学习热情。3.Explain the meaning of the whole text sentence by sentence,help the students remember the main phrases and the main sentences.短语:adapt to 适应,使自己适应于句子:(1)But they were even worse than he imagined.
