Period 1 Section A (1a-1c)Good morning, my dear teacher and classmates, I am Li Xiangjun, it is my honor to have this opportunity to talk about my teaching ideas. My presentation consists of five parts.Part 1. Analysis of teaching material The lesson is from Unit 9,Go for It (Student Book II Grade 7 and this lesson is a speaking and listening class, which focus on the topic of peoples looks, such a topic is related to our daily life, so it will make students quite interested. ,and its easy for them to make some conversations. My teaching objectives include the following parts.First, the knowledge objectives:1) Key Words: hair; curly; long; short; straight; height; tall; medium; thin; heavy; build2) Key Phrases:look like; (be) of medium height/build; curly/straight hair; long/short hair3) Sentence structuresA: What does he/she look like?B: He/She is tall and has long hair. Second, the ability objective: To train students abilities of describing peoples looks.Third, the moral objectives1) Students can have a good teamwork spirit2) Students can know that in their daily life, they should respect and be polite to others.Fourth, the teaching important points 1) To master the vocabulary about peoples looks: hair; curly; long; short; straight; height; tall; medium; thin; heavy; build;look like; (be) of medium height/build; curly/straight hair; long/short hair 2)To describe peoples looks :A: What does he/she look like? B: He/She is tall and has long hair.Fifth, the teaching difficult points 1) Using is/has correctly (eg: He is tall. He has short hair.)2) Master the usage of “or” (Is he short or tall)Part 2. Analysis of studentsThe students are in grade 7, although they have already got some English language basis, some of them are still not active in class, they are not confident in class. Teacher should try to guide and encourage them to participate and express themselves.Part 3. Teaching method In this lesson, my teaching methods include the situational approach and the opening teaching strategy. Besides, PPT, the recorder and cards are needed as the teaching aids.Situational Approach The topic of this class is from our life, the teacher can set the real life situation to guide students to apply English language in their real life.Opening teaching strategy The teacher should deal the teaching material open, and use some pictures and stick figure or video which connect the teaching content to rich students knowledge and broaden the students horizons, then realize the knowledge integration.Part 4.
