周周测二 七选五4Passage 1(2017河北省“五个一名校联盟”高三教学质量监测)How to Be CreativeMost of us think that creativity is a quality belonging only to artists, writers, or dancers, rather than ourselves. _1_ The following tips are a great beginning for developing our creativity.1Get out of your comfort zoneWe eagerly accept the familiar and fear the unknown. Break out of your usual patterns and welcome creativity into your life. As stated earlier, the human brain was designed to recognize patterns. _2_ In fact, our comfort zone is nothing more than a collection of patterns. As we become more efficient at recognizing and using patterns, we rely less on creativity to find new paths. We should force ourselves out of our comfort zones and open up new possibilities.2Try different thingsIf you always do what youve always done, youll always get what youve always got. We are creatures of habits and routines, and creativity hates routines. If you usually drive to work, take the subway for a few days. _3_ Interrupt your routine, experiment and try something new. New things are often creative, but the same old thing never is.3_4_Having a great idea is not enough; you must work to make it a reality. Have you ever seen a new product and realized that you thought of the same thing long ago? Yet someone else is making money with “your” idea. _5_ The difference between a dreamer and a doer is action. Do whatever it takes to bring your ideas to life. If you can put them into practice, you are well on your way to improving your creativity in all areas of your life.A. Take actionB. Seek several optionsC. Think from the other persons point of view.D. If you normally eat in the office, have lunch under a tree.E. The truth is that we are all born with the capacity to be creative.F. We continue to create patterns and routines for almost everything we do.G. We all have great ideas sometimes, but only a few people turn their ideas into realities.Passage 2(2017宁夏银川市高考全真模拟一)Find Meaningful WorkYoung people today want to do work with purpose._1_Practice intentional experimentation.Alex McPhillips left his job writing about the Boston Red Sox for MLB. com to volunteer on Barack Obamas 2008 campaign because he was tired of writing about baseball and wanted to join a political campaign. _2_ Seek opportunities that excite you and inspire you to wake up in the morning._3_Meaningful careers are made up of personal journeys to get closer to who we are. Upon graduation, Tom considered positions in business, but the world didnt excite him. Instead, he went back to an idea that was inspired by his brother Andrew, who has autism (自闭症). So Tom built Rising Tide Car Wash, which employs people with autism. The family business provides people of all ability levels with an independent life._4_Skills often get people hired. Research has shown that people who find fulfilling work are good at what they do and have mastered a particular craft or talent. _5_ This was the case for Deepa Subramaniam, who worked as a product manager for 10 years. During her 10th year, she was eager for a career change. She realized many organizations could use her particular skills. She noticed an opening in Charity: Waters director of product, and used her new network to get connected to the leadership team and eventually land the position.A. Know who you are.B. Use skills as an advantage.C. Skills allow you to take your career in multiple directions.D. That volunteer experience eventually turned into a paid job.E. If youre having a hard time finding that, these lessons can help.F. But what happens when youre really good at your job but still feel stuck?G. Theyre the driving force behind a new economy that puts meaning before money.Passage 3How Can I Fight Laziness?Lazy people will never gain anything in life. However, laziness can be defeated once a few changes have been made in your mind._1_ Many people lack sleep constantly, since they stay up too late and get up too early to prepare for work. These people have little motivation once they arrive home. Laziness works hand in hand with a lack of motivation and a tendency to put off things. By adjusting your sleep schedule to provide a few more hours of meaningful rest, you can fight laziness throughout the day.Another way to fight laziness is to change your mind from passive to active. Some people treat their lives as if they were pushed from task to task. Others take a more positive approach, viewing each task as a challenge they must overcome alone. _2_Some people fight laziness by removing the temptations (诱惑) that surround them. A television in the living room may provide entertainment, but watching too much TV often contributes to laziness._3_ Complete a few tasks and reward yourself with what you enjoy, such as a good dinner or a film.Laziness can also be a lasting problem at home. Couples and children may all have different energy levels, but laziness can be spread if not dealt with immediately. _4_ Be the first to collect and wash dishes after a meal. Others in the home may eventually follow your example and perform their own task. It is difficult to practice laziness when you are surrounded by motivated people._5_ Enough exercise and a balanced diet can help you to develop a healthy lifestyle, thus enabling you to have more energy and help lift your spirits.A. To fight family laziness, set an example.B. Knowing how to fight laziness is important.C. One way to fight laziness is to get enough sleep.D. Finally, taking exercise regularly can help you fight laziness.E. With strong determination, you will be able to achieve your goal.F. Laziness appears when you no longer feel in charge of your own mind.G. Create a reward system for yourself, just as parents do for a child.Passage 4(2017江西百校联盟高三第一次联考)There are certain steps you can take to relieve the damage done by some of the previously mentioned reading problems. _1_ Be sure to use and practice them as you read.Take breaks.Remember tiredness can lead to all of the health problems and to other problems as well. If you do not rest your mind, you will likely get tired and it will cost you points._2_You can mark your place either by pointing to each word as you read it, or by placing a sheet of paper underneath the line you are reading. Pointing to each word with a pencil or your finger helps your eyes see where they should be reading. Placing a piece of paper under the line helps you to move smoothly from one line to the next.Read aloud._3_ If you must remain silent, whisper the words to yourself, or mouth the words, and say them in your head. It is important that you actually hear the sounds, even if you only hear them in your imagination. This multisensory approach allows you to see, hear, and feel what you are reading. Reading aloud should help you stay focused, understand better and remember what you are reading._4_If you are thinking about what is important enough to write down, you will pay more attention to the reading. _5_ It will also help you process the main point of the passage and improve the possibility that you will remember things. In addition, the notes you take are a record of the passage that you can refer back to if you do forget elements.A. Take notes.B. Highlight text.C. Trace your place.D. This will keep your mind from wandering.E. Notes about the entire passage should be written.F. Just knowing about these techniques is not enough.G. If youre in your own room, you can say each word aloud. 1E【解题思路】根据空后的“The following tips are a great beginning for developing our creativity”可知,事实上,我们是天生有创造力的,问题是如何开发这些创造力,所以选E项。2F【解题思路】根据上下文的“Break out of your usual patterns”“to recognize patterns”和“a collection of patterns”可知,应选F项。3D【解题思路】根据空前的一句和空后的“Interrupt your routine, experiment and try something new”可推知,我们应有所创新,打破常规,因此选D项。4A【解题思路】根据下文的“The difference between a dreamer and a doer is action”可知,有了梦想后,最重要的是要立即行动,所以选A项。5G【解题思路】根据上文中的“Having a great idea is not enough;you must work to make it a reality”与下文中的“The difference between a dreamer and a doer is action”可知,应选G项,G项起承上启下的作用。 1E【解题思路】根据文章标题“Find Meaningful Work”以及上文中的“Young people today want to do work with purpose”,再结合下文中的三条建议可知应选E。 3A【解题思路】根据下文中的“get closer to who we are”与A项中的“who you are”可知,此处说的应是要了解自己。 5F【解题思路】根据下文中的“This was the case for Deepa Subramaniam.a career change”和“She noticed.land the position”可知选项F符合语境,This指的就是F项的问题。
