习法律英语的学生以及法律工作者，比如律师、法官、翻译来说，了解和研究 这些国家的法律语言的词汇特点及其文体特征具有十分重要的意义。然而，国 内外谈论、研究法律英语词汇的文体特点的书籍和文章虽然有一些，但并不多， 而且其分析也不够完整和具体。本文对这个问题进行了进一步的探讨和研究。 语言学家认为，词汇包括俚语、术语、行话等。英语词汇相当丰富，而 不同的词汇有着不同的文体作用，不同的文体又要求用不同的词汇来表达。文 体也有多种解释，法律英语的文体属于冰冻体。 法律或者法是由政府或者其它权力机构制定或认可的准则、规定、规则等。 它通过规定人们的权利和义务，来确认、保护和发展社会关系和社会秩序。而 法律英语是法律语言中的一种，它属于应用语言学的范畴，是一种具有法律职 业技术特征的职业英语。在中国，法律英语是我国改革开放以来法制建设的 产物。普通英语的词和词组是根据它们的普通意义来解释的，而法律英语的词 和词组是根据它们的准确的法律意义来解释的。不能随便猜测和推断。 法律英语词汇的一个重要特点是大量地引进外来语。法律用语许多来自 于拉丁语，包括成语和谚语，法律英语中广泛使用拉丁词和拉丁词源的词使其 语言严肃、冰冻。法律英语还广泛地采用法语借词，使法律语言变得高贵典雅。 古词被广泛使用。这类词语的使用反映了法律英语的严肃、保守、僵硬、权威 等文体风格。 为了分析法律英语词汇的文体特征，本文列举了大量的例子，其中包括两 段文章，一段属于典型的法律体的文章，另一段属于典型的普通的体的文章， 本文还对这两段文章进行了分析、比较，并给出了数据比较图。 现在，中国越来越多的学院给学生开设法律英语课程，比如，在我校中
