摘要 美国著名汉学家、翻译家葛浩文( h o w a r dg o l d b l a t t ) 是近年来翻译中国现、 当代文学作品数量最多、贡献最大的西方学者，被誉为“公认的中国现、当代 文学首席翻译家 。葛浩文三十多年来共翻译中文作品四十余部，他的翻译对于 中国文学、文化在国外的传播起到了非常巨大的促进作用。无论是从翻译作品的 数量上还是在对翻译理论研究的贡献上，葛浩文翻译思想和翻译方法都是理所当 然地值得我们去研究。迄今为止，国内学术界对其翻译作品的系统研究尚无一人。 本文从翻译批评角度出发，首先系统介绍了葛浩文的翻译生涯和国内、国际 学术界对其译作所给予的正反评价，然后从文体学的基本理论出发，首先介绍了 文体、文体学和文学文体学的定义，以及将文体学引入翻译批评的必要性，从第 三章开始，本文采用文体学中五个基本层面的基础理论知识，系统地分析了葛浩 文翻译作品，主要涉及到语音、词汇、句法、叙事视角、作者风格与译者风格等 五个基本层面。在每个层面的翻译个案分析中，不仅分柝了葛浩文作为英语本国 语使用者的语言优势，同时也揭示了作为他国学者处理中译英过程中难以克服的 语言障碍和文化隔阂，特别是重点讨论了葛浩文的译作和原作风格的矛盾。 本文一方面通过对葛浩文众多翻译作品的分析，将文学文体学引入n 4 , 说翻 译批评中，另一方面指出葛浩文的译作中的不足之处和可取之点，从而在翻译界 首次对其翻译作品有一个科学、系统的研究，特别是对其翻译风格也有了较为客 观的探讨，同时也为今后中国现、当代文学的英文翻译提供一个思考空间。 关键词：葛浩文，翻译批评，文学文体学，风格 a b s t r a e t h o w a r dg o l d
