摘要 随着科技英语的发展，为了更直接更有效的交流，对其的研究也更加细致具体。 科技英语有很多特点，而某些特点有于对于理解能产生很大的困难。广泛使用省略 结构就是这种特点之一。 它常常被我们所忽视，但确实又是一个值得注意的问题。本论文从研究科技英 语中的各种省略结构出发，把科技英语中的省略现象分为两类：结构省略和上下文省 略。在两者之中，重点则放在较为常见的上下文省略之上。对于该省略现象的一种特 别复杂但对于学习和使用省略坌吉构又特别实用的分类方法，即：一般性省略和特殊性 省略，进行了详细的分析和研究。在此基础之上归纳出了各种省略结构的省略规则： 并针对某些容易引起歧义的省略结构做了深入的研究，初步提供了消除歧义的方法。 该论文的最后一章，通过对英汉两种语言运用省略的异同进行比较，总结出了省略 结构的翻译方法。 本文主要目的是希望能对科技英语的省略现象进行系统研究，从而能对科技英
