What color s it?Good morning/afternoon! Ladies and gentlemen! Today I am going to talk about starter unit 3 what color is it? Grade 7. My teaching plan has six parts. They are teaching material, students analysis, teaching methods and learning strategies, teaching aids, teaching procedure, blackboard design. Now, please follow me into the first part teaching material. Teaching material has 3 parts: status and function, teaching aims, key points and difficulty. At the first place, we will see the analysis of status and function. Go for it! Grade 7 is close to our daily life, will arouse Ss interests, and enable them to be communicative and confident. The starter is an introduction of this book. Then, teaching aims, it can be divided into 3 parts: knowledge aim, ability aims and emotion aim. The first is knowledge aim. Students should try to master these letters, words and structures. Next is ability. In the langue learning process, students should master four skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing ability. In this class, we mainly focus on listening, speaking and reading ability. All in all, emotion aim, the topic of this unit tells students that they are just like the color: unique, beautiful and meaningful. Now, lets see the key points and difficulty. The key points are the pronunciation and spell of letters, words and express the color of things. The difficulty is that students should know how to put these structures into practice.As we all know, students are the center of whole class, so next part is students analysis. Most of junior middle school students are from 12 to 13 years old. They are curious, active, energetic and imaginative. Thats to say, they also have strong sense of memorizing, imitating and performing, so Ill use these teaching methods and learning strategies to arouse students interests. About teaching aims, Id like to use multi-medium, video, objects and pictures.Next is the most important part: teaching procedure. It has five parts: lead-in, presentation, practice, production and homework. Its said that a good beginning is half done. In my class, one of the most interesting parts is lead-in. First, Ill show my students some popular logos which can be found everywhere. Ill ask them: boys and girls, do you know whats this? Yes, right, its ANTA. And this one? And about them? In this way, students can go over the letters they have learned and know the new letters we will learn today. After lead-in is presentation, Ill start like this: Have listened to the ABC song? Yes, but today well listen to another one: color song. After listening, tell me the words about color and what kind of structure is repeated most. Clear? Ok, lets begin. I guess my students may find these words and structure, so they can have a deep impression on the words and structure. Then Ill tell them: a good friend of mine, Mr. Panda, likes this song very much, but he only knows two kind of color white and black. Last weekend, he had a part at home and found many kinds of colors. He was puzzled and pointed Mr. Ducks cloth asking him: What color is it? Mr. Duck answered him: Its yellow. Then he asked the same question to Mr. Tree: What color is it? Mr. Tree answered: its green and brown. Finally he met Mrs. Bird, ok, guys, tell me, Mr. Panda would ask what and how Mrs. Bird answered him? After two examples, I guess my students may give me the answer: What color is it? Its blue. So students can know how to use this structure quickly. Next is practice. Lets play game: Guessing. Ill show you an object as quickly as possible, and you must tell me the color of it. Are you ready? What color is it? Good! Its red. Then is pair work. I will show my students some pictures and let them make a dialogue using this structure: what color is it? ItsThen is production. Last weekend, I also attended the party. Do you want to see Mr. Pandas house? Ok, lets see it. Its so beautiful, isnt it? Now, please find the colorful things as many as you can and make a dialogue with your partner just like this one: What is it in English? Its a desk. What
