语义词群与主题词群对中国学生二语词汇学习效用研究 王秀 摘要对于许多学习外语的人来说，最大的困扰在于如何增加词汇量。然而 许多学习者看到的英文课本中的词汇却是按语义词群来排列的，也就是说按相似 的语义或相似的结构排列的，例如：m o u t h ，n o s e ，e a r ，c h i n 等词汇被列为一组。这 种排列似乎可以促进词汇的学习。而根据心理学的“干扰理论”以及h i g a 在1 9 6 3 年所做的研究和t i n k h a m 在1 9 9 3 和1 9 9 7 年所做的研究以及w a r i n g 在1 9 9 7 所做 的研究中都证明词汇的这种排列有消极的作用，会妨碍学习者对词汇的学习。并 且发现对于词汇学习者来说积极的排列应该是主题词群的排列，例如：f r o g ，g r e e n ， h o p ，p o n d ，s l i p p e r y , c r o a k 被列为一组。 本研究旨在进一步论证语义词群和主题词群对于词汇学习的效用，探讨的问 题共有两点： 1 对于把英语作为外语的学习者来说，学习按语义排列的词汇比按非语义排 列的词汇难度更大吗? 2 。对于把英语作为外语学习者来说，学习按主题排列的词汇比按非主题排列 的词汇更容易吗? 本研究以某大学非英语专业三年级本科学生为被试对象进行了一系列实验。 实验包括两项不同任务和两组平行的测试。实验的两项任务：1 ) 识别新单词； 2 ) 回忆新单词的英文拼写。两项测试的问隔时间为两星期。单词的学习成效是以 识别和回忆过程所需的次数为数据，通过s p s s 统计软件进行分析，本研究的主要 发现是： 1 对于把英语作为外语学习者来说，学习按语义排列的词汇的确比按非语义 排列的词汇难度更大。 2 对于把英语作为外语学习者来说，学习按主题排列的词汇比按非主题排列 的词汇更容易一些，但是效用并不明显。 根据上述发现，作者对大学英语词汇学习提出了一点建议：英语词汇学习是 一个枯燥的过程，但是只要掌握了词汇学习的规律，学习中的一些干扰是可以避 免的，教师和课本的编写者可以将词汇尽量避免按语义编排，而根据词汇的主题 来编排，就可以减少学习中的障碍从而促进学习者的词汇学习。
