文化转向背景下的忠实研究 摘要 翻译，是人类社会发展历程中一项历史悠久的重要交流活动。而作为翻译研究中的一项 基础性原则，。忠实是翻译中一个充满争议的话题。传统意义上的翻译理论家们把翻译 看作一项以源语言和作者为导向的活动语言转换。他们宣称，对一个称职的翻译者来说， 对原文语言的绝对忠实是必须的。他们对翻译的这种论断把译者推向了两难的境地。这个 局面一直持续到了2 0 世纪7 0 年代。二十世纪的最后三十年见证了翻译研究视角的一场深 刻革命，文化研究正式登上了历史舞台，这就是为人们所津津乐道的翻译研究“文化转向 。 像真正的革命一样。文化转向大大扩展了人们的视野，翻译开始被看作是一种大量文化和社 会因素制约下的协商。另外，越来越多的学者开始以社会学的视角来审视译者的身份。从 真空下“理想化 的译者到处于文化语境下的译者，人们对译者的认识在不断加深。 然而，文化转向后，翻译的忠实问题开始越来越充满争议性。很多学者提出，鉴于原文 本存在较大不确定性，译者和译者应该对原文加以自由阐释，对原文忠实的做法已经变得 毫无意义。这种观点马上遭到了另外一批学者的强烈质疑，这种质疑转而扩展为对文化转 向下的解构派视角的全盘否定。忠实这一命题已经成为理论界的一个烫手山芋。 有鉴于此，本文作者立足于客观角度，对文化转向视角下的忠实问题作出了一番正本清 源的工作。在本文第一章，作者介绍了引出了忠实这一中心问题，明确了本文的三个写作 目的： 第一，从历史的角度的对忠实概念加以梳理，得出人们对忠实的基本看法。 第二，指出并纠正近期人们对文化转向角度下的忠实概念的误读和误解。 第三，以文化转向下的解构主义为视角来描述翻译的忠实的实质。 第四，对文化转向视角下的忠实概念做出评判。 在第二章，作者回顾了文化转向前中西方各派翻译学者有关“忠实 的详细论述，本文指出，文化转向的指导思想解构主义并没有否定忠实于原文的重要性。 相反，文化转向中的文化翻译学派从深层意义上对忠实的必要性进行了维护。 在第六章，为了全面揭示文化转向背景下翻译忠实的实质，本文把现代拓扑学相关研 究综合运用到了翻译研究领域。翻译包含着一个拓扑结构，其中包含着常量和变量。以拓 扑学视角来看，翻译就是一项旨在保留原著常量元素的转换活动。只要常量完好无损，翻译
