摘要 本研究调查了中国英语学习者的语言学习观念及其与语言水平的关系。研究 的焦点在于中国英语学习者语言学习观念的基本特点以及他们的学习观念与语 言水平的相关性问题。 通过对文献的综述，我们知道，语言学习者可能持有一些语言学习观念，并 把这些观念带到课堂中来。而这些观念会对他们的学习行为、语言水平、学习效 率以及学习策略等产生深远的影响。 在中国，尤其是大陆，不少专家学者对学习观念进行过研究和探讨，但是很 少有人对学习者观念和语言水平的相关性进行直接、深入地研究。因此，到目前 为止，在大陆范围内，对学习者观念和语言水平的相关性研究还寥寥无几，探讨 大陆英语学习者学习观念之特点的研究也很少见诸文献。本项研究通过对中国英 语学习者观念的调查，旨在弥补这一缺憾，为学习者观念研究提供原始数据和资 料。 本研究主要探讨以下几个问题：1 ) 中国英语学习者观念的基本特点以及与 其它国家或文化背景下外语学习者观念的异同：2 ) 中国英语学习者观念与语言 水平的关系或相关性；3 ) 本研究对中国英语，外语教学和学习的启示。该项研究 的主要目的在于调查并确定中国英语学习者语言学习观念、探讨这些观念与语言 水平的关系，以期对语言教学大纲设计和教师教学实践有所启示。 本研究对大陆3 所高校的3 8 4 名英语专业二年级学生进行了调查。调查中主要 利用h o 聊娩( 1 9 8 5 ，1 9 8 7 ，1 9 8 8 ) 首创的“语言学习观念调查问卷”搜集定量数据。 该问卷包括五个部分：外语学能，语言学习难度、语言学习本质、学习，交际策 略以及动机。采用“受试者背景信息问卷”来调查他们的背景信息和其它语言学 习观念。所有受试者都参加了2 0 0 6 年全国英语专业四级考试( t e m4 ) ，本次统 考成绩作为衡量受试者英语水平的依据。最后，调查还通过访谈的形式搜集了部 分定性数据，作为对定量数据的补充。 调查结果发现，在“语言学习观念调查问卷”的3 4 个学习观念中，有的与语 言水平呈正相关( 如观念4 ，6 ，1 2 ，1 3 和1 5 ) ，而有些呈负相关( 如观念9 ，1 1 和1 8 ) 。文章总结了中国英语学习者观念的基本特点，并与荚国和中国香港地区 的类似研究进行了比较，结果发现：就总体趋势而言，不同文化背景下学习者观 念的基本特点非常相似；但就某些具体观念来说，它们在特定文化背景下具有一 定独特性。本文还探讨了该项研究对我国英语教学和学习的启示作用。最后，文 章指出了该研究的不足之处以及在以后研究中的改进措施。 关键词：学习观念：语言水平：相关性；语言学习观念调查问卷 a b s t r a c t 1 k ss n l d ys e t
