First aid课堂活动案例活动地点202教室学科English教师 李活动对象高级中学202班全体学生(61人)单元名称Unit 5 First Aid学时序号1课时(40mins)具体学习内容Warming upReading课 型Warming upReading活动内容分析The purpose of this period is to arouse Ss interest in first aid and to increase Ss awareness of the importance of knowing about first aid as well as the first treatments to some common injuries. To achieve the purpose, some oral activities about how to give first aid treatments are included here. Ss are required to use the words, phrases and patterns fluently to fulfill the tasks designed, which may be a little difficult for them.学习者分析Generally speaking, most students in my class are very creative, they have cognitive competence and their own idea, but they still have some difficulties in speaking and reading comprehension. Thus, varied exercises are needed to interest the students and enable them to perform listening and oral practice with the hope of helping my students indeed to master some information of first aid for common injuries and perform skillfully in life.活动目的Knowledge & Ability aims: 1. Enable the Ss to know some knowledge about first aid.2. Learn some new words about some common injuries and master their usages.3. To practice Ss oral English.Emotional aims:Guide the Ss to be warm-hearted, calm and helpful when something emergent happen.活动重点1. To get Ss to learn new words about common injuries and first aid.2. Through warming up, get Ss to practice their oral English and listening.活动难点1. Enable the Ss to be brave and calm down when meeting with emergency.2. Enable the Ss to deal with the emergency correctly and try to express the treatments in English fluently.活动涉及词汇electric shock,sprained ankle,first aid,barrier,remove, stick to, coolwith, icy, dry, cover.with, bandage, in place, tape, butter, oil or ointment, doctor or hospital活动涉及句型省略句 if (it is) possible, conj + (it is) + adj. Then show some pictures . money power house2. Watch a video named “Electric Shock” to the students, and then ask them a question: If we dont have lives, can we enjoy those wonderful things?3. Show a picture about a sprained ankle and ask the students how to deal with it. 4. Give the correct treatments to the students. Sit him downPut some ice on the anklePut foot up on a chairBandage up his ankle tightly5. Get Ss to read at page 33 for information and think about the following questions. (Task 1). 1) What is first aid? First aid is _ given to someone who suddenly _ or _ before a doctor can be found.2) Why is first aid important? Show the picture on page 33 and the ask the students to discuss the following question?1) What s on the cupboard?2) What happened to the little girl?3) How will the mother deal with the burns?(The last question will be discussed at the end of this lesson.)Practice students ability of getting information from the picture and making cooperation with others.Step 3FastReading1. Give the whole class 3 minutes to read through the text by themselves and after reading ask one student to number the topics from 1 to 5. _ the three types of burns_ what to do if someone gets burned_ the functions of skin_ the symptoms of burns_ how we get burnsEncourage the students to read the text by themselves and Practice their ability of reading comprehension. Step 4Careful Reading1. Ask the whole class to read Para 1 and the ask one student to answer the question:The functions of the skinKeep you _or_Prevent your body from_Where you feel _and_Give you_2. Ask the whole class to read Para 2 by themselves and the whole class answer the question: Causes of burns1)_ 2)_ 3)_ 4)_5)_ 6)_3. Listen to the tape from part 3-part 4, and label these pictures with first degree burns, second degree burns and third degree burns.(ask one student to label the pictures) _ _ _4. We should make sure the bandage wont stick to the skin when it is used. ( )6). If burns are on the face, we should make the victim lie down.
