摘要本文以哲学阐释学为理论基础，对三字经的英译本进行比较研究。文章首先简要地介绍了三字经，其国内外的影响地位，以及不同的译本，其中翟理斯的和j l a u 的译本是本文进行比较的研究的重点。接着文章引入了本文的理论基础一阐释学。文章讲到阐释学在国内、国外的发展与研究，并从各个角度展示出其理论背景，为做翻译研究提供了很好的理论基础。三字经是中华民族文化的经典之作，其文字简练，三字成韵，朗朗上口，同时还蕴涵着丰富的思想。掌握三字经的真实含义对于继承和传播中华传统文化具有十分重要的意义。三字经有多个英文译本，翻译质量各有千秋。本文以伽达默尔的哲学诠释学为理论基础，对三字经的两个英文译本，即翟理斯1 9 1 0 年的译本和黄桥网上发表的版权属于j l a u 的译本进行了比较分析。，传统阐释学起源于对圣经的解释，伽达默尔将其发展为系统的现代哲学阐释学，他的“历史解读”、“前见”和“视界融合”等概念对翻译研究意义非常重大。这些理念为翻译研究提供了新的视角，从伽达默尔的哲学阐释学的角度来看，翻译是译者和作者、译者和文本，以及译者和读者之间的对话过程。如此以来，文本不同层次的意思就会被挖掘出来，理解就会更加深刻。在伽达默尔理论思想的指导下，就这两个译本在何种程度上接近原文意思，以及两者如何保存原文特色，本文进行了对比分析。分析结果表明，总的来说，j l a u 的译文无论在内容还是形式上都更甚于翟理斯的译文，理由有二：首先，j l a u 和作者享有更多共同的视界；其次，比起较早的译者翟理斯，j l a u 有更i i i多的参考文献与相关的研究资料。然而翟理斯所做的翻译对现在三字经的再译也有不容忽视的贡献。本文认为，不同时代和不同文化背景会产生同一作品的不同译本，我们不能单纯以好坏对其进行评价。译者必须要开阔自身视界，消除负面前见，才能挖掘出文本真实含义，达到作者、译者和读者三者之间最大限度的视界融合。关键词：三字经：翻译：阐释学：对比研究i va b s t r a c tu n d e rt h eg u
