中文摘要 汉语古诗是中华文化的瑰宝，在文化交流频繁的今天，汉古诗英译显得越来 越重要。汉古诗英译传统方法与观点基本是以文本为中心，译者试图重构原诗的 意义、形式或美，评论家倾向于拿译诗同原诗进行对比从而在译本中挑错。这些 以文本为中心的方法与观点忽视了译者的主体性与创造性和潜在译文读者的参与 性，从而导致译者与潜在译文读者被边缘化。鉴于此，本文尝试探索以接受美学 为理论基础向汉古诗英译引进更具解释力的翻译方法，即显性翻译与隐性翻译。 根据接受美学理论，在翻译中，译者首先是读者，即原文解读的创造性主体； 同时他也是翻译文本的作者，即译文的创造性主体。而潜在译文读者对最终翻译 作品也有一定的影响，因此也被视为是翻译过程的积极参与者。 语言具有提喻性。根据语言的提喻性，我们可以将语言所表达的信息( 形式 与意义) 分为显性信息与隐性信息。而文学语言又具有未定性，这使得译者必须 使用不同于原语言的显性信息与隐性信息表达原有的信息，翻译中他必须使用显 性翻译与隐性翻译。显性翻译是将原文中的隐性信息在译文中显露出来的翻译方 法；而隐性翻译则是将原文中的显性信息在译文中隐晦起来的翻译方法。本文论 证了显性翻译与隐性翻译是汉古诗英译中两种可行并有效的翻译方法；并在汉古 诗的五个层次中讨论了显性翻译与隐性翻译的应用，即语音强调层、意义建构层、 修辞格层、意象意境层和思想情感层。 显性翻译与隐性翻译的运用综合考虑了汉古诗英译中的所有参与者，即原文 本、译者和潜在译文读者；同时还考虑了整个翻译过程，即译者与文本间的对话， 以及译者与潜在译文读者间的对话。 在汉古诗英诗中引进显性翻译与隐性翻译为分析汉古诗英译提供了新的视角
