摘要 译者是整个翻译过程的真正操作者或者说控制者，因为翻译中的 任何事情如翻译标准的采纳、翻译方法的选择以及翻译结果的最终确 立都是由译者来决定的。也就是说，翻译中真正起作用的是译者本身。 根据辩证唯物主义观点，译者是内因，翻译中所有的其他因素都是通 过译者才起作用的。因此，我们本应该对译者的研究给予充分的关注。 换句话说，如果我们要在翻译研究上取得根本性的突破，就必须在译 者身上而不是在别的方面寻找突破口。然而，我们此前的翻译研究过 于关注翻译的外围，忽视了译者这个翻译行为的真正主体。 那么，我们要如何研究译者这个翻译主体呢? 我们认为，对翻译 主体即译者的研究主要是指对其翻译心理活动进行研究。我们知道， 人类的行为大体上可以分为两类，即有意识行为和无意识行为。但不 论是有意识的还是无意识的行为都是由行为主体的心理所控制的，都 是其心理活动的反映。只有对译者的翻译心理活动进行了仔细的探 讨，我们才能对翻译活动的实质有一个更加清晰的认识。 然而，译者的翻译心理活动有很多种，涉及其理解心理、价值心 理、判断心理、审美心理、创造心理等等。而且，对译者的翻译心理 进行研究是一个复杂的系统工程，本文不可能对译者的所有心理活动 作出探讨。作者只是有选择地对译者翻译时的审美心理活动进行了初 步的研究。 在译文的意义忠实于原文的前提下，译文读者总是倾向于读比较 美点的译文，所以在翻译时进行翻译审美是译者应有的职责。事实上， 美学进入翻译理论研究领域的时间是很早的。在西方，早在公元前 4 6 年，翻译理论的始祖西赛罗( c i c e r o ) 就提出了对译文的美学要求。 在中国，对翻译中的审美问题进行过论述的译者或译论家也不在少 数，如严复、鲁迅等。但他们都只是利用美学的原理来研究翻译问题， 强调了翻译中进行审美的必要性，却缺乏对译者审美活动背后的心理 活动进行探讨。实际上，翻译中的许多问题只有从心理分析的角度才 能说得清楚，翻译审美也不例外。所以，对译者的审美心理进行探讨是 很有意义的。 本文借鉴现代心理学和美学的研究成果，对译者在翻译活动中的 作用，翻译审美心理活动发生的前提条件，所涉及的主要心理要素以 及这些主要心理要素之间的关系等进行了初步探讨。并在此基础上试 探性地揭示出了专业译者翻译审美时所遵循的一般心理活动模式。论 文在引言部分总结了我们翻译研究的现状。大致分析了我们此前研究 翻译时方法上所存在的弊端。第一章主要探讨了翻译与美学的关系、 翻译中译者审美的必要性、翻译审美与一般审美活动的异同等。第二 章主要讨论了译者发生审美活动的前提条件。第三章分析了参与译者 翻译审美活动的主要心理因素。在前几章的基础上，作者在第四章里 对专业译者翻译审美活动时的一般心理模式进行了试探性的描述。最 后，在文章结论部分，作者对所讨论的要点进行了总结，指出翻译心 理研究是一个复杂的系统工程，译者的翻译审美心理研究只是这一系 统工程的一部分，同时还指出了进行译者翻译心理研究的重大意义。 关键词：译者，翻译审美，心理要素，审美心理，模式 a b s t r a c t t h et r a n s l a t o ri st h er e
