Sing the song:Whats in the magic bag, magic bag, magic bag?Whats in the magic bag?Magic bag today?Explain that they have got 20 guesses to find out whats in it, eg Is there Mother in the bag?Keep a record of the number of questions asked on the board.When the ss guess an object correctly, take it out of the bag. The ss win if they find out all the contents in fewer than 20 guesses.Whenever take out a card out of the bag, ask ss to read the word together.Use the poster to show the family.Elicit vocabulary “grandma, grandpa, brother, sister, father, mother” by playing “Take a photo”.Stick flashcards on different walls around the classroom.Ask ss to imagine they have a camera and demonstrate this.Give instructions to pairs of ss in turn, eg “Take a photo of grandma, please.”Ask ss to walk over to the flashcard of Grandma, wave and say “Hello, Grandma.” and pretend to take a picture. Teacher can also ask ss to say Click! each time ss take a picture.Encourage the rest of the class to clap and say, eg Fantastic! if they take a photo of the word you say.Break Divide the class into pairs.Explain and demonstrate that the ss will get sets of cards in pairs(12 cards in total).Then tell ss that they should put their cards face down in a pile.Ask ss to turn over their cards at the same time and say, eg I can see a mother As soon as they turn over matching pictures, they say Hurray! And take that part of cards out of the game.After they turn over all their cards, ask them to reshuffle them and start again.The game ends when there are no more cards left.Ask ss to play in pairs.Explain that Student A lays the cards in a row and then gives instructions, eg grandma, mother, brother to the partner to order the cards in the same way.Then ask ss to check that their cards are in the same order and then change roles.Divide ss into groups.Let them ask each others family with their photos.-Who is this? -This is my mother.Monitor while they are doing the task.When they finish, change ss into different groups, and continue asking and answering.Break Hang out animal family cards to each student, eg Father Pig, Mother Pig, Baby Pig.Then ask ss to come to the middle of the classroom, hold their animal cards, go around and find their family members by calling out Father, or Mother, or Baby.After they find their family members, ask them to sit in groups with their family and teacher says ”Show me Mother”, then each group should raise the Mother picture, and call out the sentence “This is Mother.” together.
