山东大学硕士学位论文 摘要 在二语习得理论中，“输入”作为重要的外部因素之一，极大地影响着 学习者语言习得的速度和质量，因此近年来“输入”因素愈来愈受到研究者 的关注。在众多的输入研究中，k r a s h e n 的“输入假说”最具影响，其它有 关输入与互动的研究都由此而展开。“输入假说”认为，只有当学习者理解 了略高于其现有水平的语言输入，即i + l 后，才有可能习得语言。其中“i ” 代表学习者目前的语言水平，“1 ”是其现有程度与下一程度之间的差距。这 一输入假说自问世以来对二语习得研究产生了巨大的影响。尽管如此，它也 遭到了许多研究者的批评及驳斥。其中最直接的反对来自于s w a i n 。s w a i n 在1 9 8 5 年提出了与“输入假说”相对立的“输出假说”。这一假浣认为，人 们是通过产出信息而习得语言的。s w a i n 从促进语言的流利程度及准确程度 方面阐述了输出的作用，认为可理解的输出同样是二语习得不可或缺的重要 因素。 大量的输入研究都验证了阅读及写作训练对语言输出的影响，但就笔者 所掌握的有限文献资料来看，比较两者对提高学生的写作能力的不同效果的 实证性研究尚不多见。本研究以k r a s h e n 的“输入假说”和s w a i n 的“输出 假说”为理论依据，通过具体的教学实验尝试回答下列问题：增加可理解的 阅读及加强写作训练能否提高学习者的写作水平? 如果能，那一种方法更加 有效? 本文首先回顾了近年来国内外有关输入理论的研究现状，其中主要包括 k r a s h e n 的语言习得理论及其输入假说，以及与此相关的研究，如l o n g 的互 动假说，s w a i n 的输出假说，j e r e m yh a r m e r 的平衡活动法，等等同时对该 领域的国内研究也进行了阐述，并分析了输入研究中存在的问题，然后描述 了一次为期两学期的教学实验，该实验将k r a s h e n 的输入理论及s w a i n 的输 出理论运用到中国的教学实践中。实验的对象是烟台大学2 0 0 3 年秋季入学的 非英语专业的大学一年级新生，共3 个班，每班5 0 人。其中的两个班为实验 v l 山东大学硕士学位论文 班，另外一个班为控制班。在严格控制其它变量的前提下， 要求两个实验班 的学生每天分别做半小时的课外阅读或写作练习。两学期后分别将三个班的 写作成绩加以比较，结果发现：( 1 ) 通过增加可理解的阅读量或加强写作训 练可以提高学生的写作水平。( 2 ) 从长远来看，增加可理解的阅读量比单纯 加强写作训练更有助于提高学生的写作水平。接着本文从认知语言学及心理 语言学的角度深入分析了阅读及写作训练对提高写作能力的不同影响，并对 两种方式的效果迸行了比较，力求从理论和实践上对实验的结果找到合理的 解释。最后从输入的质、 输入的量、情感过滤及语言教师的新角色等四个 方面讨论了该实验对于大学英语教学的启示：语言的输入，无论是听还是读 的材料，都不应过难或过易，而应稍稍高于学生的当前水平，学生结合已 学过的知识及其对给定材料所产生的图式能够理解：大量而多样的可理解输 入对提高学生的语言输出起着至关重要的作用，所以无论是课堂内还是课堂 外都应尽量多给学生提供此类输入：学生的情感状态也是影响语言学习的重 要因素之一。k r a s h e n 认为如果过滤率过高，语言输入就不会到达学习者的 “语言习得机制”，因而就不能被理解、吸收，所以作为语言教师，应努力 营造轻松愉快的学习环境，激发学生的学习兴趣，增强其学习动机，降低其 焦虑感，培养其自信心，提高其学习效果：传统意义上的教师只是知识的传 授者，而现代教学理念则赋予语言教师新的角色，这一角色是多样性的、富 有创造性的。除了不断丰富自己的专业知识以外，语言教师还要熟知心理学、 心理语言学、认知语言学、教学法及教学策略等多个领域的知识，以最大限 度地开发学生的学习潜能，提高其语言输出的能力。
