山东师范大学硕士学位论文 摘要 运用语用学的相关理论来研究文学作品，从而产生了一门新的生命力较强的 交叉学科文学语用学或语用文体学。戏剧是文学作品中的一个重要组成部分 和特殊表现形式，主要依靠戏剧语言推动情节发展和展现人物性格。语用学理论 对文学作品有很强的解释性，尤其适用于解读戏剧中的对白和小说中的对话。 苹果车是萧伯纳晚年时期的作品，是其政治幻想剧的代表作，但他晚年 的作品没有得到应有的重视。本文将运用语用学的两大主要理论，即格莱斯的合 作原则理论以及利奇和布朗、莱文森的礼貌原则理论来解读萧伯纳的戏剧苹果 车里丰富的会话含义。本文对这两个理论进行了详细阐述，并解释了它们之间 的关系，为分析会话含义和间接表达方式提供了清晰的理论框架和研究工具。 美国哲学家格莱斯认为，在所有的言语交际活动中为了达到特定的目标，说 话人和听话人之间存在着一种默契，一种双方都应该遵守的原则，它称之为合作 原则并具体提出了四个准则。事实上，这些准则常被违反从而产生会话含义。格 莱斯和会话含义自6 0 年代末提出以来，激起了研究者的极大兴趣。但他的这个 理论也有不足之处，用来解释语言现象还存在一些问题。其中之一即合作原则只 解释了人们间接使用语言所产生的会话含义及其对会话含义的理解，但没有解释 人们为什么常违反合作原则，而要以含蓄和间接的方式表达思想和进行交际。不 少学者针对合作原则的缺点提出了修正和补充，其中，利奇提出的礼貌原则很好 的补充了合作原则在这方面的缺陷，他认为交际者是出于礼貌的考虑，才偏离合 作原则的，并对礼貌原则进行了归纳和分类，将其分为六条准则。布朗和莱文森 也提出了自己的礼貌理论，包括面子理论，威胁言语行为理论以及间接礼貌策略。 本文从苹果车中精选了大量典型的使用间接表达的对话，运用上述的语 用学理论对其会话含义进行详细剖析。并根据间接礼貌策略在语言形式上的不同 表现方式，对这些会话对话进行比较明确的归类分析。剧中人物经常违背合作原 则和会话准则，采用间接表达方式，制造会话含义，这样做的原因之一是他们要 顾及到谈话者的面子问题以及言语交际中的礼貌原则。为了减少对交谈者的面子 威胁，遵守交际礼节，说话者往往使用看似礼貌的言语方式，隐讳的表达自己的 真实想法和情感。这样做可以避免直接冲突、尴尬或其他种种不良后果。说话者 的会话含义在特定场合和情况下是确定的，并且他们希望交谈者能够领会这种言 m 山东师范大学硕士学位论文 外之意。但有时候因为语境、交谈双方的理念、教育背景等因素，会话含义不一 定能够被准确理解。本文将运用上述语用学理论对具体例子中会话含义的产生和 诠释做比较详尽的分析。 本文以合作原则和礼貌理论为理论框架对苹果车的会话含义进行剖析， 从剧中人物不时地违反合作原则和会话准则出发，结合具体的语境，通过对会话 含义的分析，揭示其原因：说话者是出于礼貌的考虑，采用间接礼貌策略，从而 使会话向着对自己有利的方面发展；或者为了弥合交谈双方的矛盾，使会话不要 破裂。可以看出，出于礼貌的考虑和维护交谈双方的面子是其根本原因。同时通 过欣赏剧中丰富的会话含义，对剧中人物性格、戏剧冲突有更好地认识；进而拓 展和丰富了国内对萧伯纳的研究。 通过上述分析，有助于读者从语言层面欣赏和解读剧本，从一个新的角度合 理的、充分的理解和阐释戏剧语言，欣赏戏剧语言的“言外之力，弦外之音”， 从而为更好的理解和阐述戏剧冲突、人物性格和戏剧作品主题提供依据，对戏剧 教学有一定的启示作用；同时拓展了传统的对萧伯纳的研究范畴，并且阐明了运
