摘要 戴赫劳伦斯( 1 8 8 5 1 9 3 0 ) 是二十世纪备受瞩目的英国作家。批评界长久以来对劳伦 斯卷帙浩繁的研究，不仅是劳伦斯世界观和艺术观的复杂性和矛盾性使然，也是其作品 中所深藏的哲学思想所致。劳伦斯一生探寻人的自我道德的发展，他的作品充分体现了 作家对个体自我发展的道德关怀。本论文即以吉利根的关怀伦理学理论为基础，以劳伦 斯文学生涯早、中、晚期各一部代表性作品为对象，分析其中所蕴含的自我道德发展的 观念，揭示作家自我道德发展观念的衍变历程。本研究将有助于更深刻地理解劳伦斯的 思想、道德、价值观的境界及其哲学意义。 吉利根的关怀伦理学理论是其女性主义道德心理学的主要组成部分，其中所揭示的 自我道德发展的三个阶段自我保护、自我牺牲、自我平衡与劳伦斯早期的儿 子与情人、中期的恋爱中的妇女和后期的查特莱夫人的情人中所分别蕴含的 主人公自我道德发展观念相一致。这三部作品的主要人物都在追寻着自我道德的发展与 完善，是作家自我道德发展观的写照，只是所关注的焦点有所不同。儿子与情人是 劳伦斯自我道德发展观的初始阶段，其自我道德的关注焦点是自己；恋爱中的妇女 是劳伦斯自我道德发展观的探索与过渡阶段，他在这部小说中推翻了先前阶段的观点， 认为对自身的过分关注不利于个体自我的实现，而一方对另一方的牺牲则在个体自我实 现的过程中起至关重要的作用，关怀的焦点从自身转移到了他者；查特莱夫人的情人 标志着劳伦斯自我道德发展观的成熟阶段。在这部作品中，劳伦斯认为对自身和他者的 关注在个体自我实现的过程中都是必不可少的，任何一个方面的缺失都会导致个体自我 实现的失败。 本论文由六章组成。 第三、四、五章为本文的主体部分，运用吉利根关怀伦理学理论中关于自我道德发 展三个阶段的阐述，对劳伦斯早、中、晚期各一部代表作品进行研究，揭示作家在其作 品中所表现的自我道德发展观的发展和演变。第三章以儿子与情人为分析对象，指 出这一时期劳伦斯的自我道德发展观处于初始阶段，其自我道德的关注焦点是自己。第 四章以恋爱中的妇女为分析对象，指出这一时期是劳伦斯自我道德发展观的探索与
