的工作。这一工作经历帮助他形成了严谨缜密的思维习惯和提炼概括的写作风 格。随后投身剧评界的一段时期里，由于大量接触戏剧作品，斯托帕德有机会 更为完整的了解英国厚重的戏剧历史，并客观理性的分析时下的戏剧发展潮流。 1 9 世纪6 0 年代，英国戏剧较之其他时期而言，有了更强的开放性。也正是在这 一历史时期，斯托帕德开始了他的戏剧创作。他的戏剧不仅历时的继承并发展 了英国源远流长的戏剧传统，同时也在不断地吸纳着同时代其他戏剧实践的成 果。在发觉了这一系列的独特性之后，我决定对其代表作之一的戏谑进行 深入的分析，探索这部剧作广博的包容性。 除去第一章外，论文主体包括两大部分，共四个小节。第一章节中主要探 讨戏谑的寄生情节。剧作的主要情节和其中的部分人物直接来源于英国著 名剧作家，奥斯卡王尔德的名著认真这个名字很重要。斯托帕德借用前 辈作品的戏剧情节，使观众在观看剧作的最初，即被牢牢吸引，并不断比较两 部剧作的异同之处。在此基础上，出于对王尔德的敬仰之情，斯托帕德在戏 谑中大量模仿王尔德的双关语和精妙表达方式，其中一些甚至在艺术造诣上 已超越前辈。王尔德的作品多以批判其所在社会的伪善作为主题。戏谑中， 斯托帕德同样借用主人公之间的争辩，相互揭露他们所代表的各阶层人的伪善 思想。第二章节中主要探讨的内容是戏谑对乔治伯纳德萧教育性戏剧 的继承和改良。二次世界大战结束后，观众对戏剧的品味发生了很大变化，人 们不再钟情于道德剧和教育剧，转而更青睐轻松幽默的喜剧。斯托帕德洞察到 了这一变化，戏谑中，四位主人公：列宁，乔伊斯，查拉，和卡尔就政治、 战争和艺术的争辩虽充斥着大量的萧伯纳式严谨的辩论，但却丝毫没有说教的 感觉。主人公各自表达着自己的感受，但剧作家却并未给出任何定论。对于严 肃题材的戏谑化处理在这部剧作中得到了很好的诠释。第三节，论文主要围绕 戏谑中存在的荒诞元素展开。当尼采大声宣告“上帝已死 ，当人们意识到 自己成了金钱和机器的奴隶，当生命受到原子弹、核武器的威胁人类陷入 的茫然无措，似乎所有的努力都是一种徒劳，一切都变得无意义。在戏谑 的开场，斯托帕德启用了大量的荒诞元素，营造出了荒诞不经的氛围。随后的 两幕剧中也同样存在很多荒诞元素。但通过将其与荒诞派代表作等待戈多 进行认真比较分析后，我们发现，斯托帕德对于荒诞派戏剧的吸纳更多的体现 在创新而非一味的模仿。第四章中，论文着重探讨斯托帕德是如何运用布莱希 特陌生化理论及技巧来为戏谑营造“间离”的艺术效果。通过打破传统戏
