人公露丝的身份问题。第一章，简要介绍作家、作品、后殖民主义理论及文献综述。 第二章，论述露丝所面临的矛盾身份：在美国处于他者地位，在男友面前很被动， 而且不能认同自己的中国属性，与母亲之间矛盾重重。第三章，分析穿梭于中国与 美国、过去与现在之间的露丝如何在现实中追寻并超越过去，从民族身份、文化身 份、女性身份三个方面寻找自我，构建身份。第四章，阐述构建身份后的露丝所达
