m b u t t e r f l y c u l t u r a lr e s i s t a n c ea n dc o m p r o m i s e 摘要 随着 f o b 在1 9 7 8 年的出版发行并获百老汇奥比大奖 黄哲伦一举成为 美国文坛最为耀眼的华裔戏剧家之一 1 9 8 8 年 百老汇成功上演了黄哲伦的代 表作 蝴蝶君 不仅给他带来巨大的商业成功 也令其在美国文坛声名鹊起 这部戏剧为他赢得了当年的托尼最佳戏剧奖 黄哲伦由此也成为第一个获得该 奖项的亚裔美国人 如今 黄哲伦已被许多文学评论家公认为美国最具才华的 青年剧作家 他的许多作品都对亚洲移民的遭遇和东西方关系投以深切地关注 尤其是他对于美籍华人生活境遇的关注使得许多评论家将其归入亚洲作家的行 列 蝴蝶君 因其巨大的成功而备受评论界关注 但大多数评论家只是单纯 地以后殖民的视角来探讨他对东方主义和西方传统文化的颠覆 而另外一些学 者却又完全否定了他的这些尝试 也就是说 评论家们对于黄哲伦代表作 蝴 蝶君 的研究与探讨大都带有片面偏激的意味 要么对其作品的解构意义大加 赞赏 要么就认为其对东方主义的颠覆完全为失败之举 因此 笔者试图对该 作品做一次较为全面客观的解读和分析 指出 蝴蝶君 是对东方主义和西方 主流话语的成功颠覆 但由于剧作家本人独特的文化身份
