Warm-up (7mins)a) Play a game like this:Teacher says “one”, students must say “first” as fast as possible.T: Two.S: Second.b) A free talk.Talk about the date today and yesterday and their birthdays. Students are allowed to talk about it with their partners.Then the students report.Step2. Presentationa) T: Do you want to know about how to describe the shape of the objects, the length and width?Then teacher shows a basketball and asks the class like this:T: Whats this in English?S: Its a basketball.T: What shape is it?S: Its .Teacher helps the class to answer.b) Teacher shows a coin, a cake, an egg, an English book, a box, and asks students these questions and writes down these new words about shape on the blackboard.c) Work alone:Ask the class to describe those objects showed before, or describe their own things.“Its a/an . Its + color. Its + shape. Its + length. Its + width. ”When the students say these sentences, teacher remembers the wrong expressions and corrects them later.Step3. Listening and speakinga) Ask questions before listening:(1) Whats Kangkangs birthday present?(2) What shape is it?(3) What color is it?b) Listen to the tape twice. Students should answer the questions at the first time. At the second time, teacher will find the answer while listening.c) Let the class read after the tape.d) Girls are Maria, and boys are Michael.
