The movie told a story that Juli fell in love with Bryce at first sight and flipped, but they mutually shut out. The movie expressed the director to think of the growth of human and love view. The purpose of the thesis is that analyzes of love view of Juli , which was braveness and perseverance , and love view of Bryce that was timorousness and braveness and the reasons that their love view formed. She was born in 1965. She was a scenarist and childrens author. She was born in a poor family, and her parents were fanatical literary enthusiasts. As a child, she did not have snacks and toys. This established foundation for writing novel. Her representative works were Sammy Keyes series and Shredderman Rules .Sammy Keyes is a series of mystery novels written by Wendelin Van Draanen for children aged 915. The series focuses on Sammys adventures as an amateur sleuth. The books, which are narrated in the first-person perspective by Sammy, involve detective fiction as well as comedy. Sammy begins her adventures in the first book as a seventh-grader, and the series will end when she completes the twelfth grade. Eighteen books are planned for the series. Sammy Keyes and the Hotel Thief won the 1998 Edgar Award for Best Childrens Mystery.Flipped was directed by Rob.Reiner. He was born in 1947. And he was a director, actor and scenarist. He had the name of business director. He became famous for This Is Spinal Tap. His representative work A Few Good Men was nominated as Academy Award for Best Picture. Rob.Reiner expressed to life by The Bucket List in 2007. After three years, he expressed to growth and love by Flipped. Callan McAuliffe(Bryce)and Madeline Carroll(Juli) were the main performers. The movie told a story about first love of young boy and girl by double scenes. Bryce was born in a rich family but Juli was poor . Bryces family removed to nearby Julis house . Juli was flipped when she met Bryce at first time. And she chased him fervently, but Bryce treated frigidly because he was influenced by Bryces father. Juli kept chickens in the back yard after a science competition and sent some eggs to Bryce. Bryce threw away eggs as rubbishes because his father despised Julis yard. Juli liked to stay on the sycamore to see scenery and invited to Bryce together, but Bryce refused her. After eggs trouble ,sycamore thing , Bryce began to fall in love with Juli. After basket boy auction, Bryce expressed his love to Juli. At the end of the movie, they fell in love .The purpose and significance of study is that analyzes of love view of Juli and Bryce and analyzes the reasons why their love view formed. There are four chapters in this thesis. Chapter one gives a general introduction; chapter two is the literature review which studies of love view and Flipped, and comments on the movie of Flipped. Studies of Flipped is from translation perspective, values perspective and symbolic significance. Chapter three analyzes of love view of Juli and Bryce and analyzes the reasons why their love view came into being. Chapter four is the conclusion. Chapter Two Literature Review Love is the eternal theme of humanity. Everyone has the right to pursue love and happiness. In this chapter, the paper aims to show a brief introduction to the definition of love view and researches of love view and Flipped. According to the papers ,researches on love view in the Flipped are limited.2.1 Related studies of love view So far, there is no specific definition of love view. Author just found some simple studies. Love view is reflection of the outlook on life. Love view in different times is different contents because it was influenced by economic condition, social system and culture. With the development of society, the love view also changed. Characteristics of modern love are based on the common ideal and goal of both men and women. Characteristics of modern love are loyalty , commentary and strong persistence. Researches on love view abroad explore the essence of love as the cutting point, studying from the type of love, love being the foundation of marriage, predestined relationship, romantic attitude, love expression etc. Among them, it is focal point to study from the type of love. Scholars think that love is a romantic relationship in peoples attitude towards love and is a reflection of people love views. Freud studied of love since the 1930 s. Scholars have been devoted themselves to explore the essence of love from different points. Love is a complex phenomena that is affected by social factors psychological and subjective feeling. Therefore, Fehr and Russell believed that the concept of love was too complex to be defined.(Fehr, 1991)Knox and Sporakowski think that the romantic love and realistic love are the two basic attitudes of love. Romantic love happens once in a life time. Romantic love is love at first sight and the sole criterion of marriage. Realism love is the opposite of romantic love and calm, reliable and that can give more comfort love.(D.H. Knox, 1968) Hatfield and Walste think that love is divided into companion-ate love and passionate love. After a series of studies are considered is one of the most basic classification. (Hatfield, 1978) Lee put love was divided into main mode and the secondary mode. Main mode includes: eros, ludus, storge. The secondary mode includes: pragama, mania, agape. The secondary mode was made by the main mode of three types of love two combination, that is storge and ludus form of pragama；eros and ludus form of mania；eros and storge form of agape.(J. A. Lee, 1973) Sternberg put triangular theory of love. He thinks that love consists of intimacy, passion and commitment three components.(R. J. Sternberg, 1986)The different combination of three elements formed eight different love, like（only intimacy）, obsessive love（only passion）, empty love(only commitment ), romantic love(intimacy and passion ), friendship love（intimacy and commitment ）, fatuous love(passion and commitment ,as love at first sight), consummate love(intimacy and passion and commitment, loveless(without three elements).Love view means the peoples fundamental views and attitudes to love and marriage problems, and its impotent parts of outlook on life. Its major contents including: what is love, the essence of love, love positions in society life and personal life, standards of choosing spouse, how to treat lovelorn etc. (Luo, 2009)Researches on love view at home was reflected by literary works. However, less researches refer to childish love. Liu Ping put the love view under the feminine principle sight. The actual status which women are humiliated and damaged and the brutal struggle when love did not exist. The obey and elimination to men power words, mature feminine awakening. The women are in born-weak status in novel and marriage, and the earnest hope to feminine awakens harbors. Chi Li believes because of the quenching of long feudal patriarchy culture, women forged a firmer and more pliable quality. Non-feminine principle about love view includes, the approval material practical value specifically; the resolution spirit pursue; the common custom life and the romantic love opposition; the difficulty choice between the reason and the emotion; the independent and the open -type about marriage. ChiLi removed the unreal color of the love step by step, forced love to go down the god world, go out of the poetry atmosphere, return to the ordinary survival condition, but not a mysterious emotion which was unattainable in the upper air. In todays literature multiplication ,love and marriages writing is main literature existence way.(Liu, 2008)2.2 Comments on the movie FlippedIt was too numerous to count about comments on the movie Flipped, but author thinks significant comments as follows:Zhou（2014）commented that the movie took the route of warmth. When people watched the movie just as turning an old and yellow photo album. Because the rhythm of movie was clear and bright, and the movie showed American country environment in 1960 years. The movie showed the complex first love in same scene and different points of views. Director made audiences relive an old dream that was first love. The movie told us that on one hand, we kept mundane attitude, on other hand, we lost the warmth of human. The plot of movie looked like briefness. In actually, the language of movie had a lingering potency. Flipped not kept a first love but showed humanistic concern. If you met Mr. Right, you should cherish him.(Zhou, 2014)Fu （2014）said that the movie was a type of family, and gave people enlightenment from first love, family life and attitude towards life. The heroin Juli was a mature, forthright and sincere, confident, optimistic and fearless girl. On the contrary, Bryce was a absent-minded and not independent boy. Chet was a moral beacon for a absent-minded Bryce on the love way. On the other hand, the whole movie played twelve pieces of music in all, beginning with Pretty Little Angle Eyes ,ending with Let It Be Me. They gave audiences sorrowful and romantic feeling. The movie made people think of growth and knew that who they were.(Fu, 2014)Chen (2015) commented in beauty of humanity of American culture that Flipped touched many people. It was popular because audiences connected in mind growing experience and first love watching the movie. At the same time, the movie showed American female in American culture. American women were crucial and brave. It was a teaching material that knew American human beauty. First love in movie was the beginning of human beauty, and they were not like pursuit of utility in the social convention. And the boy and girl were not so realistic.(Chen, 2015）2.3 Related studies of FlippedUp to now, there is no research on Flipped abroad. Researches on Flipped home analyzes from language translation perspective, values perspective, symbolic significance ,etc.2.3.1 Studies of Flipped from translation perspectiveHuang YuShun analyzed the Chinese version of Flipped with the characteristics of childrens literature basing on the three basic rules of Skopostheorie. As a special branch of general literature, childrens literature has its own specific target readers and distinctive characteristics of literature. However the research on the translation of childrens literature is still marginalized in the field of translation studies. It has not gained enough attention. The translation practice of childrens literature lacks important academic studies to direct, which leads to the decline of its quality.By taking the sentences in Flipped as examples, analysis of Chinese version of Flipped from linguistic form, linguistic content, and linguistic style, which is based on the three basic rules. Through analyzing and studying the English novel Flipped and its Chinese version, the feasibility and validity of Skopostheories used to lead the translation of children of children literature.(Huang, 2013)Yang LiFan shows the practical experience of translating an American child literature Flipped (Chapter 5 and Chapter 6) from English to Chinese. It reviews the translation process by adopting the method of the introspection, making reference to other works and the combination of theory and practice. Yang found out corresponding translation strategies and methods, exploring ways to improve the translation quality of child literature and the ability of translators. Through researches on Flipped, Yang knows the young adult fiction better so as to improve translation ability. Some of us get dipped in flat ,some in satin, some in gloss. But every once in a while you find someone who is iridescent, and when you do, nothing will ever compare.(Yang, 2014)2.3.2 Studies of Flipped from values perspectiveXu WenJing shows American values which consist of individualistic values , family values, cultural values. Individualistic values are core of American values of individualism ,that is ,individual-based philosophy of life.Individualistic values were embodied in respecting self, safeguarding dignity. And family values were embodied in concept of equality and respect for family .Cultural values ,to a large extent, it is for life solution and the understanding and the yearning and pursuit of life, is for life annotation. Juli and Chet show kindness and generosity. A tree, a boy, a girl, a wise old man, a mental retardation, two courtyards, all of above show American values perspective.(Xu, 2012)Fan (2014) said that feminist movement had wide influence. And Flipped showed that women sought self-actualization and realize personal value by the image of Juli. Juli was brave and rebellious character. Juli shined with the brilliant of the feminism. Feminism is the motivation of stimulating womens independence, initiative, creativeness. In addition to Juli, Bryces sister also showed feminism. Bryces sister had rebellious spirit . She enjoyed talent of music which was Julis brothers, and regarded them as friends. When her father made fun of them, she had the quarrel with father. Females which were in the movie showed feminism.(Fan, 2014) 2.3.3 Studies of Flipped from symbolic significanceThe movie showed a story by subtle statement and internal monologue between a boy and a girl. In the movie, the sycamore was mention by many times. The beginning with the movie, it was luxuriantly green, later it was a picture and wood pile, finally, it was a young tree. It run through whole movie and was given symbolic significance. The symbolic significance of sycamore in Flipped made mention of symbolism. The sycamore symbolized the growth of children ,family love ,pure love. The experience of sycamore is also growth of girl and boy. When the sycamore was chopped down ,her father painted a tree for her. A painting tree symbolized fathers love. Bryce planted a sycamore for Juli in her courtyard and finally they planted together symbolized pure love.(Bai, 2014)Juli thought that sycamore was a gift which was given by God . A sycamore was the main line of movie. Firstly, the sycamore symbolized love, and the sycamore was cut down symbolized that Juli was disappointed with love, and Bryce planted a young sycamore in Julis yard .It indicated the love that was Juli and Bryce as young sycamore, and it must be grow. Then, the sycamore symbolized growth. Juli found out herself spiritual paradise by fathers enlightenment. After cutting down sycamore, eggs disturbances and uncles things, Juli came out from small world, and enjoyed life.
