语者的学习主要是一个实践的过程。对于英语学习者来说，阅读英文报刊能学 习最新的英语、了解变化的世界。通过阅读英文报刊，人们不仅能扩大词汇量， 增强语感，领会词汇的内涵，而且它是学习和掌握现代英语的最重要、最简洁、 最有效的途径之一。同时，人们还能通过阅读英语报刊了解英美社会和世界的现 状，了解当今世界在政治、经济、军事、科学、文化以及社会生活的各个方面的 新事物和新动态。 报刊英语具有自己鲜明的特点，它在用词造句、文章类型、文章结构、写作特 点、词汇和语法等方面都有别于普通英语。在英语新闻报刊中，新闻记者们经常 使用一些习语、俚语、典故和新造词，这些最新用语使得学习者们迷惑不解，不 得要领。如果学习者们没有基本的新闻常识，也没有掌握一定的新闻英语的基本 文体特征，就很难完全理解报刊英语。因此，本文希望通过对新闻英语文体特点 的研究让英语学习者们对报刊英语有一个系统的了解，这样有助于他们有针对性 的进行更加有效的学习和训练，从而进一步提高语言水平。 本文共分为六章。第一章主要介绍了有关新闻英语的背景、国内外专家、学者 的研究现状及本文的研究方法。第二章是理论背景。介绍了文体学的定义、文体 学的研究对象、文体学的分析方法和文体学研究的发展过程及现状。本章的重点 放在了介绍文体学的三种分析方法：语音、笔体学方法、词汇和语法方法和语义 学方法。第三章和第四章讨论了一些新闻的基本常识。在第三章中介绍了新闻的 定义、新闻的价值、新闻的分类、什么是新闻英语和英文报刊的发展过程。第四 章讨论了新闻的结构，从新闻的标题、导语和主体三大部分做了详细的介绍。第 五章是本文研究的重点部分。用文体学的三种分析方法分别对新闻的标题、导语
