雅思口语P2:busy answerCook 2017-02-11题目:Describe a time when you were really busy. You should say- when this was- why you were so busy- how you managed the situation- and explain how you felt at the time.参考答案:Im going to talk about the time I left a university assignment until the last minute and had to work flat out to get it finished. This was about ten years ago when I was doing my Masters degree.I had to do several 3000-word assignments for the modules on my Masters course, but I remember that there was one in particular that I really struggled with. I had been procrastinating and putting it off for weeks, and in the end I left myself just two days to get the whole assignment done. This included finding and reading relevant books and articles, deciding on my thesis and assignment title, and producing a final draft which had to be handed in to the department office before the deadline. The pressure of such a close deadline actually forced me to manage the task in a really efficient way. My first step was to decide on the general area that I wanted to write about, and then I limited myself to just ten research sources. I printed the most relevant pages, highlighted the key paragraphs and made some notes to summarise and synthesise the ideas that I found interesting. Finally, I just started writing the main body of the assignment, and I wrote the title and the introduction last.I had mixed feelings at the time. I was annoyed with myself for leaving it so late to get started on the assignment, but I was relieved and quite impressed with myself when I managed to complete the final draft so quickly. It was also quite stressful and tiring to have to find articles, do photocopying and then write everything so quickly. I wouldnt want to go through that again!1chocolate answersHere are my sample answers for the chocolate topic. Remember that your priority in speaking part 1 is to demonstrate fluency by giving answers that are short, direct and natural, without hesitating too much.1) Do you like chocolate? Why / why not?Yes, I love chocolate. I like the taste, the texture and the feeling that you get when you eat it. And it goes really well with my favourite drink, coffee.2) What type of chocolate do you prefer? Why?I prefer dark chocolate to milk chocolate, because it has a stronger taste. I also like chocolate when its in a cake, and I love drinking hot chocolate too.3) When do you usually eat chocolate?I try not to eat too much, but I probably eat or drink something that contains chocolate every couple of days.4) Do people give chocolate as a present in your country? When?Yes, its very common to give boxes of individual chocolates as a gift. You can give chocolates on any special occasion really: birthdays, Valentines day, Easter, Christmas, and so on.“home”answers and structure2) Do you think its better to rent or to buy a place to live in?I think its better to buy your own home if you can afford to do that. Buying your own home is a better investment in the long term, because you can sell the home and perhaps even make a profit on it. The alternative is to pay rent to a landlord who can ask you to leave at any moment.3) Do you agree that there is a right age for young adults to stop living with their parents?Im not sure what the right age would be, but I do agree with the principle that young adults should try to live alone if they can. For some people, the right age is when they get their first full-time jobs and can afford to pay rent, and for others its when they start university and move into a hall of residence with other students. This was what happened in my case; I moved out of the family home at age 18 when I started university.Lets look at how I structured the above answers.Answer 2Three sentences: 1) answer 2) explain 3) alternativeAnswer 3Three sentences: 1) answer 2) explain 3) personal exampleDescribe a toy that you often played with as a child. You should say: what the toy washow old you were when you had itdid you play with the toy by yourself or with other kidsand explain how you felt about this particular toy.I was the only child of my parents and they used to provide me with almost all forms of toys but I liked the video game much than any other toys.It was a video game containing different games including block setting, car race, puzzle and many other video games. Basically, it was a plastic made video game set and was around seven inches by length and four inches in width. The entire body was made of durable plastic and the keys were yellowish. The most favourite game of mine was the car race. Sometimes I had to press the big button hard to increase the car speed and when I crossed the levels, the speed increased automatically. I loved the game as I had a passion in driving cars but as I could not do that in real, I did that on the video game.I was 10 when my father gave me the video game. He gave me that as a Christmas present. It was a surprise for me. I saw such a video game to one of my friends and he was playing that with a smiling face. I touched the game and also experienced the same feelings. He allowed me to play few of the games for about half an hour but I could not finish as the battery died. Then I told my mum that I need a video game like that but she instantly said nothing to me. When my father gave me the pack of Christmas, I was truly surprised in that age. It was a pleasing moment for me too when I unwrapped the pack.I used to share the video game with the other boys of my school who wanted to play. We used to play the games by rotation and had to be careful lest our teachers notice the issue. One of the classmates was caught in red-handed while playing the video games during the math class. So, we were highly careful about the fact. Besides, when the battery died, I used to buy batteries with the contribution of the other players (!) who participated the game. The video game was a kind of treasure to me. In the beginning, I did not allow anyone of my family and friends to touch the video game piece. I cared for it too much and did not play it fearing imaginary and potential damages. Besides, I used to take out the battery so that nobody could play or do anything with the video game in my absence. It was the most valuable thing to me until it broke in an accident. When it slipped from my hand and fell on the ground from the window, I was shocked and rushed to the road to collect it from where it fell. Unfortunately, I found that a vehicle has run over the video game set when I was rushing to rescue it.It was a deep shock for me. However, my father wanted to buy me another similar thing but mother did not allow so fearing I might break again. It was the end of my video game era.题目:Describe a website you ohten browsewhat is ithow long have you been using itgive details information about the websiteand explain why you often browse this website.范文;The website is the BBC news website. You can find it on the internet and I just have it as a favourite on my toolbar. I am a complete BBC junkie! I visit the website several times a day if I can, and have been using it for as long as I can remember. Possibly for as long as the website has been in existence but definitely for the past ten years or more. The BBC news website is massive. It contains rolling headlines of breaking news, and from the landing page, you can jump to sections on different types of news categories. For example, there are tabs for world news; health issues and son on. You can read just text based articles illustrated with a few pictures which is my preferred way of accessing news and information. I think the website is really comprehensive and easy to use too.The BBC news website, for me, is a one-stop location for all current affairs and news items. I really like that I can see headlines of breaking news, but it also includes more thoughtful reporting. Detailed online articles with considered analysis about global or local events. I can also find out what the weather forecast. I also trust the BBC website to give balanced reporting, I think it has journalistic integrity, so I feel if I read it every day, I will have a good perspective on what is going on in the world. The only downside of the website is that I find it can be a bit addictive! Because it is updated frequently. But I tell myself it is important to keep up to date with what is going on in the world.I wonder if you use the website too, and if you do, whether you might as avid a follower as me!An old thing at your family 题目:Describe an antique or some other old thing that your family has kept for a long time. You should say:what it ishow (or when) your family first got this thinghow long your family has kept itand explain why this thing is important to your family.范文:Oh, I guess the average families usually own something for a long time, such as a vase, a TV set, a desk, or anything like that. In my family, there is a worn-out bicycle in the balcony that is belong to me for about 15 years. It is a simple and cheap bike, not like the mountain bikes that are frequently spotted in the streets rode by some teenage. I got it when I passed the entrance examination to the junior middle school with a high score. There were about 10 kilometres away from the boarding school to my home, and I could ride the bike from and to the school every weekend with my classmates. I really enjoyed the half-hour cycling because I could share interesting things happened during the weekend with my classmates, or when I rode alone, I loved the feeling of the breeze on my face. After I left home and went to the university, my bicycle was put into the balcony by my parents and barely used. So its gathering dust now. Every time I went back to my hometown, I rode it at times to recall the past simple pleasures of student life.Describe a piece of clothing that you like wearing参考答案:、Im going to describe a coat that I often wear at the moment. The coat is dark blue in colour, and its made out of a lightweight, waterproof material, which makes it perfect for wearing at this time of year here in Changchun. It also has a detachable hood, which I used yesterday when it was raining, and various pockets on the outside and on the inside.I bought the coat last year at the beginning of autumn when the weather started to get colder. It was easy to buy because I had had the exact same coat before; my old coat was starting to look a bit worn out, so I decided to buy a new version. As I knew which size I needed, I simply went online and found the best offer; I bought it through a shopping website, and it was delivered to my house a few days later. As I said, Im wearing this coat a lot at the moment. Its my everyday coat for going to work or for when I go
