a governor from 2000 to 2003 Currently Armen is the chief technologist in the Airborne Early Warning and Electronic Warfare Systems business area of the Integrated Systems Sector at Northrop Grumman Corp a large U S defense contractor headquartered in Los Angeles Calif He is responsible for the planning of research and development programs supporting strategic corporate goals A recipient of the Certificate of Recognition Award from NASA and the Founder s Day Award from New York University Armen is a licensed professional engineer in New York State In addition to his ASME experience he has served as member and chair of the Advisory Committee of the Engineering Directorate at the National Science Foundation and the Advisory Board of the International Technology Education Association globally administered examination and creating the Engineering Management Certification International EMCI as a business model to market the program Between 1991 and 2004 Chor Tan was the Managing Director of Education at ASME responsible for directing the 120 000 member Society s educational programs including formal engineering education pre college science technology engineering and math education professional development and continuing education of prospective and practicing engineers and other technical professionals He was Program Director for the National Science Foundation in Washington DC He was a member of New York City Commission on the Year 2000 NYC Commission on Science Technology and NYC Chancellor s Asian American Advisory Council Chor Tan received a B S degree in improvement projects Currently he is Vice President of Wilson Management Associates Inc WMA in Glen Head New York responsible for assisting clients in the analysis and reduction of various types of risks as well as resolution of disputes for design and construction projects Typical disputes involve cost and or schedule overruns He has a B E and M E in Mechanical Engineering from The Cooper Union is a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and is a licensed Professional Engineer in five states Mr Saporita is a Member of ASME s Board of Professional Development past Chairman of the Safety and Risk Analysis Division former team leader and contributor to ASME s Professional Practices Curriculum Initiative and a founding member of the Engineering Management Certification and State University and has worked in the area of compressor aerodynamics and operability for over 25 years with over 6 years teaching experience in the University He has worked in both the power production and in the air pollution control industries He is currently with Pratt Whitney in East Hartford Connecticut where he holds the position of Senior Fellow Discipline Lead for Performance Systems Analysis Operability and Test Validation Responsibilities include development of the technical discipline While Dr Cousins works in many areas he spends a large portion of his time in the area of inlet engine integration and unsteady flow analysis He is known for his test and analytical work in the area of compression system dynamics inlet distortion and the stall and surge phenomena He has received numerous awards including the Certificate of Teaching Excellence from VA Tech the NASA Glenn Team Recognition Award and the ASME Dedicated Service Award In 2000 he received the Honeywell
