NCCU, being the primary choice for conducting study abroad program in the last three consecutive years, exemplifies world top universities interest in the Asia environment and Taiwans enterprises, which also implicates recognition of Taiwans business education excellence. , This years Purdue student study abroad group is led by the Associate Dean of its business school, Dr. Kwei Tang. A total of 45 business undergraduate students came to visit, with over half of them are freshmen, and 25 are Management Honor students. Only those with 3.7 GPA (out of 4.0), or SAT score of 1870 and above (out of 2400) may be eligible to apply for the program, followed by a strict selection process. Since Purdue is an international renowned university, the visiting group is comprised of students from including mainland China and the Middle East, a very diverse student body.In the five-day courses, CNCCU, for the first time, arranged a Mandarin course in the first day, to provide students an opportunity to learn the basic daily conversations that can be applied during the trip. In the trend of globalization, study abroad has risen in popularity. Three years ago, National Chengchi University was Taiwans first to establish such collaboration with Purdue University for field studies, creating a new paradigm in international academic exchanges. Collaborations started out with one university, now growing to a total of four universities this year. With an accumulation of experience, study abroad teaching methods have become increasingly diversified. Apart from a long-term stable partnership with Purdue University, CNCCU currently also has a bilateral study program in place with University of Innsbruck, Austria, and a tailored curriculum for students from Universita Commercale L. Bocconi, Italy. Furthermore, students from Universidad Tecnologica Centroamericana, Honduras, will also be visiting in June this year.
