Its stability and rapid development are of vital importance to stability and development in the Asia-Pacific region and the world at large.中国拥有广大的市场和发展需求，美国拥有先进的科学技术和巨大的物质力量，两国之间有着很强的经济互补性。China has a huge market and a great demand for development and the United States possesses advanced science and technology as well as enormous material force. The economies of the two countries are therefore highly complementary.中国和美国在关系人类生存和发展的许多重大问题上有着广泛的共同利益，肩负着共同的责任，这些都是两国发展友好合作的重要基础。China and the United States share broad common interests and shoulder common responsibility on many important questions / major issues concerning human existence and development. All these provide an important basis for further developing friendly Sino-US cooperation.*中美两国在经济发展和结构存在极大的差异，在人力资源、市场、资金、技术等方面具有很强的互补性。/China and the US differ greatly in (terms of) economic development and structure, but are strongly complementary with each other in (terms of) human resources, market, capital, and technologies. /中美建交以来，贸易额增长了85倍，美国成为中国第二大贸易伙伴，中国成为美国第三大贸易伙伴。/Since Chinas establishment of diplomatic relations with US, Sino-US trade has increased by 85 folds. By the end of October 2006, the US had made an actual investment of over US$50 billion in China. /同时，中国企业对美投资进入快速增长期。今年1至9月，有107家中国企业在美国投资兴业。Meanwhile, Chinese companies investment in the US has begun to take off. Between January and September this year, 107Chinese companies invested in the US and set up their own businesses there.*Let us begin from what happened almost a century ago in this historic city. Mexico is now one of the major recipients of Chinese corporate investment in Latin America.我认为，中国和墨西哥两国经济存在很大的互补性，双方经贸合作关系的发展前景广阔。我们也期待更多的墨西哥产品进入中国市场。I think the economies of China and Mexico are highly complementary, which promises us broad prospects for stronger economic and trade cooperative relations. We also welcome the opportunity of an increasing inflow of Mexican goods into the Chinese market.*中国和加拿大自建交以来，两国教育部门，特别是高等院校之间建立了多种形式的交流与合作关系。Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Canada, the educational departments of the two countries, especially the institutions of higher learning, have built up exchanges and cooperation in various forms.双方学术交流的领域广、层次高。两国互派学术团体访问，交换教师、留学生和信息资料，开展合作研究。The high-level academic exchanges are conducted in various fields. Besides, the two sides have also exchanged academic delegations, teachers, students, information and materials, made cooperative researches.同时，两国官方和民间文化交流不断加强，其范围涉及文化艺术、图书出版、体育等领域，有力地推动了两国双边关系的进一步发展。Meanwhile, the official and non-governmental cultural exchanges were strengthened, covering many fields such as culture, arts, book publishing and sports, which rigorously promotes the further development of bilateral relations of the two countries.Human beings have entered the new century, when peace and development remain the main theme of the time and the world economy is speeding up its development.人类已经进入新世纪，和平与发展仍然是时代的主题。全球经济发展增长速度加快。At present, the Asian-Pacific region has once again become the highlight of economic growth and the focus of attention of the world.
