He is also the CEO of Sinoipro IP Management and Technology Transfer Co., Ltd., a professional firm providing IP management and tech transfer services to universities, research institutions and companies, and the CEO of Kaiyi Biotechnology Co., Ltd., a biotech company focusing on transgenic crops. His main previous work experiences include over 5 years of technology transfer and business development and over 5 years of cancer research at The University of Texas MD Anderson Caner Center the Number 1 ranked cancer center in the US, and over 7 years of teaching and managing technology transfer at SIBS. He has over nineteen years of experiences in technology commercialization, business consulting, new venture startup, and life sciences research, and is a frequently invited and sought-after expert speaker for many national and international conferences. He has written grant-winning research proposals, award-winning business plan, and published papers in top ranked scientific journals. He has done hundreds of licensing and collaboration deals and has been actively involving in forming high-tech and biotech startups, formed several startup companies both in China and in the US including two startups with US Venture Capital funding (one is now listed on NASDAQ), and is experienced with intellectual property, licensing, startup financing and management, drug development, transgenic crop development, and regulatory issues. His scientific expertise includes tumor suppressor genes, cancer drug development, drug delivery systems, gene therapy, animal models, cell culture systems, and genome mapping.
