SLEP 测试简介SLEP测试简介SLEP(Secondary Level English Proficiency Test)中文译名为“中学英文能力分级测验”,也就是我们常说的中学生英语水平考试。SLEP是由位于美国新泽西州普林斯顿市的美国ETS(Educational Testing Service)考试测试服务中心所设计命题的,因为该学术单位也是托福等测验的命题单位,因此SLEP考试又被称为“小托福”。 SLEP旨在考评以英语为第二语言的学生进入美国中学10年级到12年级而设立的,分“听力”和:“阅读”两部分,两部分的基本分数是20分,满分是67分。第一部分听力测验有75题,满分32分,测验时间为45分钟,形式为一边看图,一边听录音,然后选择答案;第二部分语法、单词及阅读有75题,满分35分,测验时间为45分钟,形式为各种阅读理解(图表/对话)类型。SLEP TEST的成绩是申请美国中学时大多数学校判断申请者英语水平的标准。SLEP TEST同样是是美国国务院选择公立学校交换学生时的标准SLEP成绩与TOEFL成绩换算如下SLEP成绩标准 TOEFL成绩标准64 60058 55053 50047 45042 40037 35031 300分数说明测试成绩达到50分或以上者,可选择美国公立学校交流生项目;也可选择优秀的私立学校就读中学课程,无需参加英语强化课程(ESL)。测试成绩在4250分之间者,也可选择美国私立学校就读,但需同时参加英语强化课程,并根据分数,评估参考者需参加哪个级别的英语课程。2009年,逐梦预计仍旧有接近200所左右的美国高中,接受SLEP成绩作为申请时的语言测试分数。另外80所左右的学校,则必须TOEFL或者是SSAT成绩中的一项或者是两项。根据SLEP考试的分数,也可以大致预估出经过一定时间准备后,考生可能的TOEFL和SSAT考试分数。所以说,SLEP考试,可以看做是申请美国高中所要迈出的第一步。SLEP测试共分听力和阅读理解两大部分,共140余道题目,满分67分,每部分测试时间45分钟。详细指南和题型请下载SLEP指南:/htdocs/XXLR1.ASP?ID=8265 Section I :听力部分,45分钟,70余道题,满分32分。SLEP的第一部分是在测验对英文听和说的了解程度,需花四十五分钟时间,分为四种不同型式的问题。 Part A 第一种型式的问题,学生需以测验本上的图片为依据,将在录音带所听到的四句英文句子中选择一个最能适切描述图片的,注意这些句子只会说一次且不会印在测验本上,这部份是测验对英文的微小对比、使用场合、语调、时态、发音、介词及字汇的认知概念。 Part B 这部份问题的型态较接近於在英文课中常使用的听写测验,学生需将在录音带中听到的句子,从测验本上提供的句子中选择正确无误者,这些问题强调文法架构及文意之间的关系。 Sample Questions 1. (D)The car has been fixed. 3. On tape: While I was waiting for my sister, she got the news. In test book: (A)While I was waiting for my sister, she got the news. (B)While my sister was waiting for me, she got the news. (C)I was waiting for my sister to get the news. (D)I was waiting for my sister when I got the news. 4. On tape: He didnt know how to get to the gym. In test book: (A)He didnt go to the gym. (B)He explained how to use the gym. (C)He told us to get to the gym. (D)He didnt know how to get to the gym. 5. On tape: Bill has one brother and one sister,and so does Jane. In test book: (A)Bill has one brother and one sister,and so does Jane. (B)Bill has one brother and a sister named Jane. (C)Bill and Jane are borther and sister. (D)Bills brother and sister like to be with Jane. Part C 此种型式的问题,学生参照测验本上的地图 ,地图上的街道与建筑物都有标识,且图上还有四辆标名A、B、C、D的车,学生需将所听到对话中提及的车辆予以选出,此部份的问题是在评估语言文化及实际概念的方向、距离、时间的概念及对建筑物名称及相关字汇的确认。( map ) Part D 此部份的问题为典型中学生的生活对话,由美国中学的学生录制,对话通常是发生於学校的事件,这些对话是关於课外活动、课堂学科、申请学校的选择及假日休闲的问题,而针对每一个问题学生必须从测验本的四个答案中择一正确的出来。 Sample Questions 1. On tape: (Bob) I heard that it is supposed to be a very good band. Since the game starts at 7:30, Nancy, Ill pick you up at 7. (Nancy) Thats fine. Ill be ready. It takes 15 minutes to get to the gym, so well have time. (third voice) At what time will they arrive at the gym? In test book: (A) 6:45 (B) 7:00 (C) 7:15 (D) 7:30 For questions 2 and 3. 2. On tape: (Nancy) Jane, what are you going to wear to the game? (Jane) Im not sure yet. I dont want to have a heavy sweater on at the dance. Itll be pretty warm in the gym. Ill probably wear a light dress, even though the weather outside might not be so warm. (third voice) What is the girl going to wear? In test book: (A) A heavy sweater. (B) A heavy coat. (C) Some light slacks. (D) A light dress. 3. (On tape) What is the girls reason for this decision? In test book: (A) She expects it to be cold outside. (B) She expects it to be warm inside. (C) It is going to snow. (D) It will be very windy. Section II :阅读理解部分,45分钟,70余道题,满分35分。SLEP第二部分是在测验英文的阅读能力,需花四十五分钟,这些问题包含了文法字汇及阅读理解力,此大题有三个部份:Part A 此部份的问题,学生应依测验本上所列的句子从图中的四个卡通角色中选择一个最适合者。 ( picture ) Sample Questions 1. All those wet clothes. What better way to spend a snowy day. 5. Im going to be awfully hungry. I shouldnt have hidden that bone. It would have been better to leave it in the house. Part B 此部份的问题,学生应依题意从所提供的四个图案中选择最适合题意者。 Sample Questions 1. One girl is eating ice cream but two arent. ( picture ) 2. The small square is in the upper left corner. ( picture ) 3.He is bending over to pink up the box. ( picture ) 4.The car almost hit him while he was crossing the street.
