What can be inferred from the professors response to the student ? What is the purpose of the womans response ? Why does the student say this ? 因为功能题考察的是某句话在文章中的作用，所以我们要注意结合笔记中的上下文确定该句话所展现的功能，也就是我们所说的一定要结合上下文的语境，帮助我们明确这句话在文中的功能是什么。通常， 托福 听力当中，包括：解释，总结，建议，鼓励，强调，更正错误这6种功能。 我们通过几个具体例子，来体会下功能题的做法： TPO16 L3 中教授说道： Now I would have thought the bigger the tree, the farther the beaver would be willing to travel for it. That would make sense, right? If youre going to travel far, make the trip worth it buy bringing back most wood possible.
