How much does a standard room cost?Ss:A standard room with two single beds costs ¥160 and a room with a single bed costs ¥140.T:How many rooms did she book?Ss:She booked 11 rooms, 10 rooms with two single beds and one room with a single bed.T:When will they want and how long will they stay?S:March 13 and 14, about two days.T:Good! You can get money in many ways. But in Canada and America children usually make money by themselves, they dont get it from their families. If you are them, what do you want to do to raise fund? We should work out the cost first.B:Yes, its more than ¥200.(板书。)(让学生用板书上的句子组成对话,然后进行操练达到学中用的目的。)Step 2 Presentation (时间:5分钟)1.(放录音,然后让学生抢答问题。)Listen to the tape,and answer the questions:Why does Helen look so sad?How much is the cost Helen worked out?2.(再放一遍让学生跟读。)Listen to the tape again. Pay attention to the pronunciation and intonations.3.(让学生两个人一组表演对话。)T:Act it out in pairs.Step 3 Consolidation (时间:15分钟)1.T:Make similar dialogs, and act out in pairs.2.(教师介绍一些筹集资金的故事,让学生对这一情况有所了解,帮助理解下面的阅读内容。)T:We know Maria and his classmates want to raise fund.(让学生阅读,也可以讨论。)T:Do 3a:How do the Canadian and American schools raise money?(教师对学生不明白的地方进行必要的解释,传授一些阅读的技巧。)T:Now,anything you dont understand?3.T:Now you know what is the fund raising. Discuss which is the best way to raise fund in pairs.T:Please act it out in pairs.(让他们讨论完了,又表演出他们讨论的方式,让其它学生判断表演的是什么方式,评论该种方式的合理性和可行性,激发学生的学习兴趣。)(学生完成后让他们写出原因,充分激发他们的思维,鼓励他们尽量自己想办法去筹集活动资金,而不是老是向家人拿钱,促进他们更早地独立。)T:Now please do 3b in groups. First match the picture with the proper sentence, then list at least 3 examples of fund raising that would work in Chinese schools. Write down the reasons.Step 4 Practice (时间:7分钟)1.T:Now Group 1 make some sentences like these:(板书。)Im a student.He can reach the apple on the tree.He is tall. I must learn English well.T:Group 2 make sentences like these.(在左边列出Group 1 造的句子,在右边列出Group 2造的句子)。T:Group 3 use“so”, “sothat”, “ so that ” to match them.(让学生用这三个结构把左边和右边连成一个句子,当然不是所有的句子都可以连接的,这样连接出来的有的句子就很搞笑,让学生在笑声中学会这三个结构的用法。)Step 5 Project(时间:8分钟)1.(教师设置场景,给出提示。)T:If next Saturday is your mothers birthday, you want to buy a present for her. But you dont have much money. What should you do to raise money?
