D：As we all know,Chinese traditional festivals have envolved through the centuries from past major events.Each festivals have their own specificality and uniqueness.Morever,It witnesses the development of Chinese traditional culture.So,as Chinese people,we are all proud of our country,arent we?S:Yeah！in our country,there are so many traditional festivals,such as the Spring Festival, the Lantern Festival, the ChingMing Festival, the MidAutumn Festival and so on.T:Actually,each festival is of much significance for each Chinese people.When we say the Spring Festival and the MidAutumn Festival,maybe we think of reunion. the ChingMing Festival means mourning over a persons death.So,whats your favourate festival Chen?C:For me,I like the Dragon Boat Festival, in Chinese lunar calendar,May fifth is the Dragon Boat Festival, alao called Double Fifth Festival.Duan wus original name is terminal five, and “duan”means the beginning.Its one of the most important Chinas ancient traditional festivals.S:I still know that the origin of this summer festival centers around a scholary government official named Chu Yuan.He was a good and a respected man,but because of the misdeeds of jealous rivals he eventually fell into disfavor in the emperors court.D:Yeah,with the great disoppintment and the hopenessless,I believe no one will insist on.Unable to regain the respect of the emperor,in his sorrow Chu Yuan threw himself into the Mi Low River.Because of their admiration for Chu Yuan,people throw the rolling rice and the eggs into the river in order to not devour Chu Yuans body.T:Is that todays delicious dish Zong Zi? I love that so much! This tasty dish consists of rice dumplings with meat,peanut,egg yolk,or other fillings wrapped in bamboo leaves.The red bean is my favourate!C:I love the Zong Zi with beef! Actually I think the tradition of eating Zong Zi is a special way to commemorate the great patriotism poet-Chu Yuan.D:And I know that for saving Chu Yuan,the village fisherman pursuing and boating.Although they were unable to find Chu Yuan,their efforts are still commemorated today during the Dragon Boat Festival.S:So the Dragon-boat racing has been becoming a very popular custom in the Dragon Boat Festival.Last year,I was very glad to see that competition,how exciting the scene is!T:Really? I want to take part in that competition this year! It must be interesting! I know that there are many other custom during the Dragon Boat Festival,in my hometown,we often make sachets within putting full of wormwood.C:Yeah! I know! In acient Double-Fifth Day,famailies hung wormwood and calamus on the door to make themselves knew that they were sincere and kindly.So that the army wont disturbed them.D:Wow,how smart the Chinese is!
