The media not only influence peoples aesthetic but also affect the women to pursuit the fashion beauty. Even sometimes, the definition of beauty made by the media is harmful to womens healthy.On the other hand, the media only report fashionable beauty, but not consider it could possibly have a negative effect on people, especially on women. And even sometimes the report is not true, however, the media didnt care, they only care about whether they will make a profit. The media give us images of how we have to be in order to be attractive to ourselves and other people. Then it can increase sales and make more money. As we all know, the media is so strong that we cant avoid being affected by them, and their purpose is to make profit, they wouldnt care about what influence may appear in womens mind so they set up a unrealistic standard just unconscious, look back the history, the ideal trend about women is becoming more and more serious, I admit that all men like the beautiful more, but its the media that change it into unrealistic. There are still quite thin women pursuing thinner, some gain health problems, several even died. The media present this unreasonable expectation of how women should look and its not just magazines: Its films, TV, advertisements and newspapers. Many people would share our belief that the media are responsible for this distortion of the female image.Opening statement againstThe statement you have just heard suggests that the media create society, but surely you cant accept that! Rather, the media reflect what goes on in society: The media are simply a mirror of social processes. If people are really interested in average body shapes or fatter people, these ideas of beauty will be shown in the media.
