The first periodTeaching steps:Step 1 Greetings: 1、Good morning, class. 2、Whats the date today?3、What are you going to do this weekend?4、Is he going to play basketball?Step 2 Revision:1、Do you have a red pen? May I have your pen?2、Do you have your ruler?Step 3 PresentationTim is going on a school outing tomorrow. His mother is checking his bag.1、Enlarge the notice on page 25 abort the school outing. Bring a picture of a beach, a bag and the items shown on page 25.2、(Books closed.) Point to the notice about the school outing. Show the pupils the picture of a beach. Tell the pupils that Tim is going to the beach with his class. Show them the bag. Teach them the names of the things in the bag by pulling them out one by one and writing the words on the board.3、Ask the pupils to recall the names of the things as I put each one back in the bag.4、Give the bag to a pupil. Ask the pupil Do you have your? Encourage the pupils to answer Yes, I do. Its in my bag.5、Play the tape and ask: 1 Whats Tim going on tomorrow? 2 Whats his mother doing now? 3 What day is it? 4 Whats the date ? 5 What does Tim have?Step 4 Practice1、(Books open.) Play the tape again and get the pupils to listen and repeat.2、Tell them to work in pairs and to continue the conversation about the other things in Tims bag. Yes, I do. Its in my bag.Step 3 Presentation (B1)The children are playing on the beach. Miss Chen is asking about the things on the raincoat.1、Bring the objects for the class picnic and put them in the bag. Make sure there are two of some objects, e.g. lunchbox, cameras.2、(Books closed.) Choose a pupils to come to the front. Tell the class we are twins. Show the class the bag, saying This is our bag. Take the objects out of the bag, saying This is our map. This is our camera.3、Then ask the pupils, Whose bag is this? Encourage them to answer Its your bag. Reply saying, Yes, its our bag. Pointing to myself and the other pupil. Repeat the question and answer process by asking about each object as I put it back into the bag.4、Take the objects out of the bag again. Put one in front of different pairs of pupils saying e.g. This is for you two. Its your map. Encourage the pupils to respond Yes, its our map.5、Then pick up an object from a pairs desk and ask a different pupil, Whose game is this? When the pupil answers with the names of the two pupils in the pair, reformulate the answer by saying, Yes, its their game.6、Repeat the process with a pair of objects, e.g. two cameras or two maps, Ask Are thee your cameras? Encourage the pupils to reply Yes, theyre our cameras. Then ask Whose cameras are these? And respond with Theyre their cameras.7、Remind the pupils that the plural form of this is these.Step 4 Practice1、(Books open.) Play the tape and ask the class to repeat the conversation.2、Show the pupils the thought bubbles in the big picture and at the bottom of the page.3、Demonstrate the same conversation by pointing to the lunchbox on the raincoat and getting the pupils to ask Whose lunchbox is this? The pupils reply by pointing to Pat and saying Its her lunchbox. Repeat the process with a plural noun by pointing to the sunglasses.4、Tell the pupils to work in pairs to role-play Miss Chen and the girls. Pick up some objects from the pupils desks such books, pens or pencils. Collect the objects on my desk in separate piles. Then try to remember who to return to by holding the objects and asking Are these your? Encourage them to reply Yes, theyre our or No, theyre their and to point to the owners.2、Ask the pupils to come out to the front and try to remember the owners of the objects. The pupils at the front asks who they think the owners are, and the pupils being asked must reply.Step 4 Practice1、(Books open.) Explain that the teacher is helping the pupils to pack their bags. Point to the teacher and ask what shes holding, Point to the speech bubbles. Encourage the pupils to write the correct answers.2、Play the tape and ask the pupils to check their answers.Step 5 Listen and circle. (B3)1、Show the pupils the choice of words in the sentences on the page. Ask them to circle one.2、Play the tape for the pupils to see if their guesses are correct.Step6 Workbook (P.20)1、Ask the pupils to look at the pictures and listen to workbook cassette.2、Ask the pupils to draw lines to match the children and the objects according to what they hear on the tape. Ask the pupils a prediction question at the end of Picture 3, Where do Mary and Paul think Bob is?Step 4 Read and write (D)1、Ask the pupils to read the story again. Show them where to write their answer.2、Check the answers with the pupils.Step 5 Workbook (P.21)1、Ask the pupils to look at the pictures and listen to the Workbook cassette.2、Ask them to write the correct objects that they have according to what they hear on the tape.
